It's amazing how few MSM guys are aware of this, or at the very least enjoy discussing it. Like, nobody is saying Shea Weber is a shit player today or will be tomorrow. Nobody is saying he isn't good value for money at the moment. Why are they out to make it sound as if half of the hockey world think he blows and the other half think he's god?

Agreed, although a herniated disc might even up the calendar clock.

so canucks chose Boucher over Rattie (canes played fewer games so canucks had choice)

/Boucher has been on waivers multiple times already this season ... wtf ?

Is he going to be the next winger to play with the Sedins?

As for Rattie, not sure if the Flames put in a claim for him (he is a local kid from Airdrie which is basically part of Calgary now), but Carolina were two spots ahead of the Flames as far as claim order is concerned.

Hearing that the Sharks have put Matt Nieto on waivers - I've always liked Nieto, that kid has a great set of wheels, if nothing else, he could be a nice Paul Byron replacement.

I'm disappointed the Devils waived Boucher in the first place. Great in juniors, showed some signs of life toward end of last season, if given a shot I think he'll be a productive player.

Boucher had been previously waived by New Jersey in early December, and was claimed by the Nashville Predators. Nashville then placed him on waivers on January 2nd, hoping to send him to the AHL, but New Jersey claimed him back and then placed him on waivers the next day.

This time, the Canucks claimed the 23 year old winger.

Given that the New Jersey Devils were the claiming team, and they had previously waived him, had they been the only team to claim him on January 2nd, they could've just assigned him to the AHL. This means that another team, with a lower priority had placed a claim on the forward. That team could've been the Canucks, but we will never know.

12 goals and 30 points isn't that shabby from Boucher in 85 games.

I'm hoping he gets picked up by the Sens. You can never have enough speed in your bottom six in today's NHL.

Especially considering many of those games he was buried on the 3rd/4th lines getting 6 minutes a night for some reason.

i see he never averaged under 11 minutes per game in his seasons with the Devils
