Watching Hockey Central. Doug MacLean thinks that Edmonton is going to be too big of a test for Columbus tonight.

Those grapes. So sour.

Man, I'd love a 10-2 Jackets shellacking of the Oilers tonight, but I'd settle for another 3-1 win like what happened about 3 weeks ago.

My son has practice downtown tonight, and the team busses go in right behind his locker room entrance.

I wish I had time to get an Oilers jersey to throw on the ground when the bus goes by.

Dreger was on 1050 at noon and said the Habs won the Subban-Weber trade, that Weber is a better player and is showing it this year with his incredible play for the Habs.

Shea Weber has 21 pts in 37 games, Subban has 17 in 29. Only 11 of Weber's 21 pts have come since Nov. 1.

From 30 Thoughts:

4. Will anything actually happen? This week’s frustrated quote from a GM: “I don’t know why we’re calling each other. No one is doing anything.” (As always, no one quoted here is used as an anonymous source.)

Unsurprisingly, the rest of the body was rather bare. The Spengler Cup is mentioned in 4 different points lol. This one tidbit did get my hopes up though:

28. One more wild card. Does the International Olympic Committee actually have the stones to ban Russia due to systematic doping, and the ensuing cover-ups? If yes, how does that affect any NHL (or NHLPA) decision?

Can Ovie suit up for, like, Belarus or something?

Hmmm - Put up some big numbers in the Dub with Portland, but hasn't been able to replicate it in the NHL

Doesn't it go by reverse standings order (regardless of games played) - If that's correct, Colorado would get first claim priority followed by Arizona.

yah but teams that have claimed players so far go to the end of the claim order, no?

so Zona is last in order since they claimed Burmistrov yesterday

who else is out of the top 6 or 7

asking for a friend lol

lol - You are likely correct about Arizona dropping to the bottom after claiming Burmy. I don't know, I have a feeling that Rattie will likely pass through waivers unclaimed.

/How close are the Canucks to the 50 contract limit? I think Sir Bennington would like to leave a space open in order to add a big gun at the trade deadline as the Canucks push for the playoffs.
