A late hit in the NHL is considered anything longer than 0.6 seconds. Timing that Perreault hit on Hansen, it’s probably around 1.2 seconds late, which is a remarkable number and double what is generally allowed in the league.

This, and the fact Hansen’s knee was injured on the hit, it what is likely an MCL sprain, should make for some long conversations at the DPOS.

Pretty bad hit, late and targeted the knee, should be at least a game or two in my opinion.

no one tapped him ... it was the same shift... he was on the ice and he had a clear line of sight on Hansen ... you debating whether that was late/that he might have been miffed after one of his teammates got rocked?

I think it was a haphazard soft tweener center acting like a haphazard wannabe tough guy soft tweener center who doesn't know how to finish a check/peel off.

Postponed Wings - Hurricanes game rescheduled for March 27th, 2017 which means the Wings will have to play three games in three nights.

The rescheduled game will force the Red Wings to play three games in three nights, which is almost unheard of in the NHL.

They play March 26 at home against Minnesota and were already scheduled to play March 28 in Carolina.

The Hurricanes do not play on March 26 but will play three times in four nights because of the new schedule. After the two games vs. the Red Wings, they host Columbus March 30.
