11,378 was the attendance at the Oilers - Coyotes game last night. I have to think likely between 2 to 3 thousand of those were Edmonton fans.

I might not be normal, and I was watching on TV so it may be different, but the Canadiens had some decent season under Martin and Julien but they were no fun to watch at all. I appreciated the wins but I was not often entertained. By comparison Therrien's game is exciting, and it really isn't.

The Habs still sold out the house every night during those "boring" winning years, no?

Game of the night.

A big one for sure. Jackets win in regulation puts them at the top of the Metro and the East, AND ties them for first overall with Chicago. Best part, they've played five games less than the Rangers (47pts) and Hawks (48pts) and 3 less than the Pens (47pts).

Cam Atkinson is out with a foot injury, and Bjorkstrand is filling in for him. That's a fair swap.

I hear that Torts has kept Dubinsky chained up in Nationwide for two days and fed him nothing but raw steak.

At least they are learning. Last time it was 6.

So the Jackets are now on an 8 game winning streak, There are two interesting facts about that game.

Zach Werenski scored a goal and an assist giving him 6 and 14 on the year. The Jackets record for points by a rookie D man is 21.

Alexander Wennberg, devilishly handsome and ultra mild mannered guy, very nearly got a Gordie How Hat Trick. Which, and I am just assuming here, would have been the first every for a Swedish person.

See you soon, Canucks.

Holy crap, you're right. He's unreasonably good looking.

I'm not sure if I should be jealous, impressed, or indifferent.

Mrs 43 and my oldest daughter (43.5) have both pointed this out to me.

Cam Atkinson draws in tonight in an effort to extend his 7 game point streak. Probably wearing one size bigger skate because the swelling hasn't gone away yet.

Bobs vs Murray guarding the nets. Doesn't get a lot better than that stats wise this year.

I know we don't keep stats on pucks knocked out of the air for goals, but Sidney Crosby has to be the all time leader. Another one tonight after the GOD DAMNED HERO Brandon Dubinsky attempted to clear the zone with what appeared to be a stick made of Rigatoni. Cooked Rigatoni.

That's a fusilli post.

Not to be "that guy", but we're almost 8 minutes and according to the box score, the Jackets have yet to record a shot on goal.

It was true. They were trying too hard to hit and didn't seem to care about holding the puck and getting shots.

Cam Atkinson now has an EIGHT game points streak. PPG on a pretty feed from Cap'n Nick.

Scott Hartnell apparently just hit Crosby with an elbow from six feet away.

Edit: Hartnell was scrapping a Penguin in the corner, that Penguin hit Crosby in the face with his stick. 2 Minutes for elbowing to Harsty.

So Boll and Boroweicki had a scrap. Are there two more useless NHL players than those two?
