Burns is the best player from the 2003 draft class.

13 straight victories for the Jackets, and Bobrovski has finally beaten Boston.
Also - third straight sellout. Which is unusual. Locals don't usually start paying attention to the Jackets until after the Bowl Game is done.
They had $16 million in cap space left for next year and nobody particularly important to sign beyond Panarin. How the fuck does Chicago afford this stuff all the time.
Are they going to pay a couple firsts to get the Knights to take Seabrook or something?

So they need to replace a third-pair defenceman and a backup goalie and fill another 7 spots on the roster and assuming the guy they lose in the expansion draft is a $2-3 mil/yr player and the cap will rise by $1 mil to $74 million they'll have somewhere between $8-10 million to do that with. They have 66.6 mil tied in 15 skaters... with no backup goalie and losing Campbell...

Sounds like an easy offseason in Chicagoland.
They have to protect guys with NMC/NTC's, so Hossa and Anisimov are sticking around along with Toews, Kane, Keith, Seabrook, Hjalmarsson, Crawford and I assume Panarin.Which 2-3 million player is Vegas going to take? Anisimov? Kruger? Because those are the only two options if Chicago decides to not protect them...Unless they don't protect Hossa and Vegas wants a 38 year old?

As BBB said the Hawks have basically no say in who they protect. They have a massive group of guys that must be protected
He's been unreal since the start of November. The Leafs can't defend for beans and would be back in lottery territory were it not for him.Hey BBB, I think you got the better Ducks goalie this summer.
They have to choose somebody from Chicago. Not sure who else they would be tempted by. He's a little light on scoring but pretty good possession-wise for a third liner.Yea, that was sort of my point.
The "assumption", I guess is that Vegas takes Kruger. Why would Vegas do this?
