Darren Dreger this morning: "I asked Brad Treliving point blank yesterday if he had anything going on with the Toronto Maple Leafs. I didn’t suggest Hamilton, I just said anything. His response was: ’Nothing. Zero.’ When managers tell you that specifically, that bluntly, it means they don’t want that conversation to continue on, because there’s nothing there at least for the moment."

So we'll be getting a trade shortly, I presume.

Also re: Dreger, he insinuated a Nylander for Hamilton deal would work and I agree, Calgary would probably have a fucking parade if the Leafs were that stupid. But then came the clincher:

Sometimes GM's have fun fucking with nitwit reporters.

I remember reading a long time ago about how some of the stuff Eklund wrote was actually legit from a high-up source because they got off on feeding him bullshit. Wouldn't shock me if similar stuff went on with Dreger.

FWIW I think he might just need a change of scenery, but I'm a big proponent of not overpaying for guys who might need a change of scenery. Kind of a Nail Yakupov-like situation.

Wow, I had forgotten about him, so went to see how he is doing in STL. 16 games, 2 goals and 3 assists. Per game, it matches his production last year in EDM.

Not one of the best #1 selections ever made. . .
