I'm going to go off on a tangent here but I always thought it was awfully weird for (poker player) Phil Laak to have embraced the "Unabomber" nickname. I mean, it's not like "Freddy Krueger" or something, this is a real life serial murderer with many flesh and blood victims.

I never really though about it, but on the one level Dragon, you're right, it's not a great association. I wonder though if he were to make a big stink about it, would players try to get him off his game (i.e. mess with him) if they knew it bothered him?!?

not really that weird. people regularly refer to las vegas as simply vegas

I like the logo. not too keen on the name though. should have went with the silver knights considering nevada is known as the silver state

Well, sure. People refer to Los Angeles as LA. People refer to Cleveland as "why's the river on fire?".

Their teams still use their real city names in their official nomenclature.

Jack Johnson or Dalton Prout will be our loss. No way either one get protected.

You can protect 2 goalies if you want but then you can only protect 8 total players rather than 11.

Also, the threshold is 3 PRO seasons, not NHL, so he'll likely have to be exposed. Not sure how many games constitutes a "pro season" though.

Are you sure about that Kenny? I thought it is either 7 forwards + 3 defense or 8 players but that teams are limited to 1 goalie either way.
