To be fair, it didn't look intentional on Jenner's part.
It wasn't, just bad luck. Torts could've said that like a freaking adult. "From my look it didn't look intentional, I don't think he deserves any discipline." Instead he accused a guy of faking injury to draw a call. Intentionally or not it was a nasty knee that could've blown up Genos knee, so he's not faking it, he's freaking lucky.

It is troubling to me that any referee would determine an attack with a stick of this magnitude to be a minor infraction. Far too many times we have seen minor penalties assessed (or no penalty at all) only to have a player subsequently and appropriately suspended for a dangerous act. Referees must differentiate between minor infractions and in this case a deliberate attempt to injure an opponent with multiple blows. If the refs have become desensitized to major infractions, or don’t recognize the different levels of an infraction, they must be shown. There needs to be better accountability from the top.

Brandon Dubinsky surely deserved, at the very least, the one game suspension he received for his dangerous and senseless cross-check to the neck of Sidney Crosby. I would suggest that Prout’s multi-scaled attack, delivered to the neck and head area with equal or more force, is worthy of a more meaningful suspension.

Prout still had the league's gratitude for one-punching Lucic. But all that capital is burned up now. He better behave. No more favors.

So the NY Post has a lovely click bait article on Crosby being a coach killer...and a whiner. Just come on. If you want to blame someone, look to ownership. Crosby didn't even want Blysma fired...and Therriens firing was as obviously needed as the day is long. But yeah, Sid is running the show (this was literally alluded to).

A smart guy I know (DW) says Crosby is a coach killer so I believe it.

It's better to be a pizza killer than a coach killer.

I have read from some Penguins fans that the team is lacking grit, ergo I suggest a trade sending Crosby to the Flames for Deryk Engelland (and since you need a centre to replace Crosby, we'll toss in Mikael Backlund).

Obviously the NY Post is reading what DW is posting at the Hoop :D

I have it on good authority that Portzline reads my stuff here and just prints the opposite of what I say.

Stamkos staying, John Tortorella's goons and John Scott (Puck Daddy Countdown)

Speaking of people copying my rantings:
2. Being John Tortorella

Imagine you're a coach who absolutely is not good. The Blue Jackets are 13-13-3 under John Tortorella this year, but they've also won just three of the last 12 games. And in that 12-game stretch you've been outscored 38-28.

This is bad, right? So what's your solution? Yeah, that's right, you bench the best player on your team.

But the Kool-Aid is pretty potent in Columbus and all the shot-blocking and star-player-targeting has people believing you are Actually Good. So when people are like, “Hey front office folks, what's the story with that?” You say, “Well look everyone's tradeable really if you think about it.”

Must be nice to have that kind of job security.

I demand royalties, Lambert.

I know everyone loves a winner, but the Kings have done a fine job re-energizing their fan base in SoCal. That game against the Sharks was a treat to watch and the fans were loud at Staples that night.

I like both of these ideas...

2. Shrink the end zones to where they were before the blue line was pushed out in 2005-06.
This one comes courtesy of the great Scotty Bowman. The neutral zone was shrunk from 54 feet to 50 feet in 2005, the idea being that the bigger zones from the blue line in would allow for more offense. But now all you get is five players collapsing down low to block shots. Bowman's idea is that if we go back to old dimensions, maybe the wingers would have to cover defensemen like they used to and open up more ice underneath. Not to mention point men would be closer to the net when taking their shots. When in doubt, trust the NHL's all-time winningest coach.

3. Put the center red line back in as far as counting two-line passes. This one comes from a Hockey Hall of Famer who shall remain nameless, as per his request. But his contention is that with no red line, all defensemen have to do these days is bang the puck off the glass in the hope of hitting their forwards in the neutral zone. He feels that if you put the center red line back in, defensemen will be under more pressure to make a play, a real pass, so as to avoid the two-line pass, and that should lead to more mistakes and therefore more scoring opportunities off those. I agree.
