Wouldn't be surprised if we have a Trouba trade consummated in the next few days.

Agreed. No way Trouba signs for 3mil, only to stay put in Winterpeg.

Earlier, the word was WPG was holding out for a D-man. Interesting how a dozen games can change your priorities.

Which, railroading the best of your three mediocre goaltenders out of town or trading your best defenceman for that guy?

There are three death watch threads on this board, and none of them are for my team's coach.

I feel like I am taking crazy pills.

Detroit — The cost to build Little Caesars Arena has risen by $105 million to $732.6 million, according to Detroit officials. It’s unclear if any of the increase is because of a possible move by the Detroit Pistons to share the venue with the Detroit Red Wings.

The revised estimate released by the city’s Downtown Development Authority doesn’t mean there have been massive cost overruns, development authority officials say. Nor does it mean the city or taxpayers are on the hook for additional expenses.

What Mikey Caesar wants, Mikey Caesar gets.

His team's gonna be "we just drafted Yzerman" levels of bad by the time it opens. What could go wrong?

Yeah, but it seems like one of those two things has to be true. Regardless of who is paying, how can cost go up by 15% without it being a cost overrun?

Possible scope creep due to the Piston's now wanting to play there. Locker room facilities, offices, floor and equipment. Could be possible.

In a city as flat broke as Detroit the whole project reeks.

Well, if its for new features that weren't in the original plans that's possible.

The link mentions $10 mil in change directives but that would be mostly stuff that was already included that had design flaws that resulted in extra cost (and to be honest, seems like a low figure for such a large development).

My guess is what 43 said, but $100 mil would be a lot of money to add some offices, hardwood, a locker room and equipment. For comparison, when MLSE added the Argos to BMO Field the cost jumped $20 million and included for all the above (and none of it was skimped-out on, all the additions were state-of-the-art).

Well, they can always save a couple bucks by using cheap PVC pipe instead of metal pipe for icemaking
