It's unorthodox, but I like the Isles team rule that an RFA must be signed before training camp or they sit the season. They have zero leverage to be doing garbage like this.....
I've got no problem with it. This isn't a case of a guy holding out or demanding a trade. He's not under contract, so he has no obligation to do anything until a contract is signed.

The CBA gives RFAs certain rights and it gives teams certain rights. Why should the players not exercise their rights just the same as teams do?

Prust officially let go from his PTO.

Also sounds like Leivo is being waived tomorrow. Worth someone taking a chance maybe but the Leafs don't think they're missing out on much there at this point.

Ruslan Fedotenko officially retired. Didn't realize he tried to make a comeback last season with the Wild.

I'd usually say enjoy retirement, but I'm still bitter about his performance in game 7 of the 2004 SCF.

/Oh, what the heck, enjoy retirement Ruslan.

tuomo ruutu released from canucks PTO
I liked what Ruutu showed in camp.
Hope he sticks somewhere.

Agreed. If a player with no contract gets hurt in training camp, he's fucked.

Carey Price has the flu and Patrice Bergeron has a lower body injury - Both will not play in their team's home openers.
