I think Griffith is a better fit for the Leafs than Pulk as well. Still has the skill to fit their new style but is less of a perimeter guy than Pulkkinen. Toronto already has marner and Nylander to fill the role of perimeter, highly skilled forward. Pulk is just an inferior version of those guys.

Also cause you know, fuck Boston

Sounds like Versteeg has spurned the Oilers to sign with the Flames, according to Dreger:

I guess that means PullyourRV will be on the Oilers opening night roster.

I liked puck's post from a couple of weeks ago when he saw the headline "Canucks added Skille to forward ranks" and hoped it was a typo...

Now some are speculating when the Oilers knew that Versteeg wasn't going to sign with them as it may have impacted their pursuit of guys like Parenteau on waivers. That's a steady hand at the helm in Edmonton, isn't it?

To bad, Versteeg is a good depth guy that could have helped Edmonton a lot.

Well, like, what was the holdup? They are the ones offering the contract to a guy in camp on a PTO. Why wasn't the contract extended days ago with a deadline of, say, yesterday?

The best part is if they had said nothing and he signed in Calgary there would only be murmurs; as usual, the Oilers do their best to make themselves look ridiculous over even the smallest issues.
