I kinda feel like an idiot for defending E. Kane when the crap with Winnipeg happened. Thought he was being treated poorly by leadership simply because he was a bit different and had an ego. Turns out he's simply a jack ass who deserved a soggy track suit.
Me too. He kept out of the papers when he was playing junior in Vancouver,
won him the benefit of the doubt.
KO-ing Cooke made me a fan.

gonna be using 'allegedly' alot in discussions about Kane for a little while

Our Stanley Cup celebration pictures may be black and white and on traditional rolled film, but at least we don't have to photoshop the trophy into them
0What are you're thoughts on lou lams? I'm liking what Shero has done a lot. The Hall trade was great. But Mcleod and Bastian are the real deal. I'm not sure if you watch periscope. But they blew away developmental camp. Mcleods speed was very noticeable. He needs to add some muscle mass but was very strong on the puck. And his shot may have been under rated he can finish. Bastian has a wicked shot and is already a bast. He's got all the components of an elite PF. I'm not too worried about the defense yet,. I still thing they are a year off. And Schneider has been great

Cory Schneider for Gilbert Brule

According to former Columbus GM Doug Maclean , this swap was apparently proposed back in 2008. And it was Dave Nonis and the Canucks who made the offer.

In hindsight, the deal would have been one of the most lopsided in recent memory. Brule never amounted to much in the NHL and hasn’t been seen in the league in two years, while Schneider has established himself as one of the best goaltenders in the world. But back in 2008, things weren’t so clear. Both players were considered top prospects at the time, albeit slow-developing ones; Brule had struggled through three seasons in Columbus after being the sixth overall pick in the 2005 draft, while Schneider had yet to make his NHL debut after being taken 26 th in 2004. A change of scenery for both players may have been just what they needed to finally make an impact.

Instead, Maclean and the Blue Jackets turned down the Nonis offer, instead choosing to send Brule to the Oilers for Raffi Torres in a deal that didn’t really work out for either team. The Canucks saw Schneider blossom, then shipped him to New Jersey for a first-round pick as part of the whole Roberto Luongo fiasco .

Fucking MacLean.

Meh. Guy's kinda all over the place - rips (with cause) Lombardi for his terrible asset management despite winning two Cups in the past 5 years but then places Ken Holland, whose method of team building the past decade could easily have been done with similar outcome by his senile owner, 4 spots ahead of Deano.

Also, why do people slob Kevin Chevycadillac's knob so hard? 1 playoff appearance in 5 years (in which they were swept) which followed 4 years of no playoffs before he took the reigns and people are impressed with his farm system? Fucking Mike Milbury and Dave Nonis on an 8 year bender in which all their liquor is peppered with GHB could build "perhaps the league's best farm" given that much time. And I'll put a healthy helping of worthless Canadian loonies on the Jets finishing in the bottom third again this season and Kevin Chevychase still won't lose his job and dipshits will rave some more like they're writing for Pravda and he's running a Soviet collectivisation program because WOW WHAT A FARM!

The guy who hired Randy Carlyle and gave Ryan Kesler a 6 year contract extension for the value of Santa Catalina Island being ranked 7th is kinda fucked, too.

But hey, he started off with a bang :D
I think if we take away all the Benning stuff from the draft, what with him breaking pretty much every rule written or otherwise in the GM handbook, Jarmo probably finishes last. Dealing for Clarkson is so far beyond inexplicable...
