I don't see it happening. The goalie every team who needs one should be going after this offseason is Jake Allen of the St. Louis Blues. He's Elliott's backup. I think he could probably start for more than half the teams in the league.

Nor do I, nor do I want to see it. I'm not ready to see this team go into a downward spiral

Thing is, the Stars' Cup window depends entirely on how Nill handles the next two offseasons. Goligoski, Demers and Russell are both UFA off their blue line this summer with a good chance none are coming back. Benn, Sharp and Hemsky are all UFA's the summer after. I don't see any reason Benn leaves unless Nill gets Yzermanitis and starts low-balling him; is he going to sign Sharp to a ridiculous extension like he did Spezza?

Anything can Clarkson....I mean...happen, anything can happen, but I think the idea of anybody taking one of those two goalies is pretty far-fetched unless someone is planning right now to do some serious tanking in the next two years (Vancouver?) and would be willing to take one on as long as the Stars sweeten it with a pick or two like the Caps did for the Leafs to take Laich.

No team can keep everybody. The Blackhawks have had to trade a number of guys including Sharp just to stay below the cap. The Stars have no choice, but to acquire another goalie. This team has to much talent to waste. They didn't even have Tyler Seguin in the lineup.

Bobby Mac suggesting the Oilers will be closely monitoring how the Ducks play out the RFA situations of Vatanen and Lindholm.

Too bad Burkie is no longer GM of the Ducks (lol)

As a refresher...

After his Stanley Cup-winning season with the Anaheim Ducks, Burke engaged in a lengthy war of words with his GM counterpart Kevin Lowe. Burke took exception to the inflationary effects of the Edmonton Oilers signing Dustin Penner to a five-year, $21.25-million US offer sheet, which the Ducks declined to match. "For the colossal stupidity of what the Edmonton Oilers did this past summer ... If I had run my team into the sewer like that, I wouldn't throw a grenade at the other 29 teams and my own indirectly," Burke said of Lowe. "So I have no intention of speaking to him any time soon."

Yeah, really wonder if having Seguin would've pushed them over the top. The fact they got to a game 7 at all without him and with Sieve 1 and Sieve 2 in goal is nuts.

Tell you what if the Leafs give up Van Reimsdyk, Nylander, Marner the 1st overall pick in 2016 along with the Leafs next 5 1st round picks you might have a deal.

Yes, that's an 8 for 1 trade.
If we do that, will JT put up more than 2 pts in the second round? :behindsofa:
