So, I just had to look this up...holy crap, shady as hell.

thats all that is happening in Vancouver and surrounding areas (happening in Toronto too) ... putting some serious Q marks on the entire real estate agency business/industry

Probably would have cost that much to clean up the stale pop tarts and hot dog bun fragments.

He came out even.
The funniest thing about this is his address literally flies in the face of the first line of Simmons' dumb ass column.

Here's a map from 761 Bay St., where the condo is, and the corner of Front and John St., where Simmons' article said a hot dog vendor "lost his most reliable customer" from the neighbourhood:

Untitled.png

I'm sure Kessel was walking 28 minutes in the freezing cold every morning to get a hot dog from this one vendor, passing by multiple other food vendors, restaurants, cafes etc. on the way. And then walking another 5-10 minutes to the ACC.

I mean, the artificial inflation could crumble the market, right? I'm not an expert on economics, but seems like it could create some major problems. I know you guys have mentioned foreign buyers complicating the situation too. But mostly seems like the issue is that this can't be maintained forever, gonna be a bubble that pops.

its not artificial inflation ... its supply and demand ... but what it certainly is is fraud

/what you have is unscrupulous "realtors" (i put that in quotes because some arent even licensed ... marking people, usually the elderly, who dont know the market mechanisms going on and the true value of their property ... buying low and re-selling high

Yup, prices will come down when people in Asia start running out of money (or rather find other safe harbor(u)s for their money).

One thing that really pissed me off about people gushing over Trudeau is that he went on and on and on about increasing taxes on the wealthy to give the middle-class a tax cut (not that raising the taxes on the wealthy was ever going to cover the revenue needed to give the middle-class a tax cut, but who cares about maths right?) and yet the housing market is the single biggest sector when it comes to rising costs for the middle class and it is so very predicated on foreign money and yet he's absolutely fucking silent on it. Yeah, great, we get to keep an extra $1500/yr; meanwhile the average house cost in Toronto went up $25,000 last year.

You are assuming a lot here.

Yeah, the "walking" part, too. That amount of walking would have made him more fit.

I'm just going by Simmons' dumb, illogical, bullshit article. He could've written that he walks the half hour, eats everything along the way, tops off with a hot dog and then saunters off to the ACC to slack off in practice and get his coach fired.

Looks like Julien is staying on as coach for Boston. He would have made a good coach for Ottawa.
