They'll have beaucoup competition - depending on how the playoffs play out there could be vacancies in Dallas, Minny, STL, Anaheim, Brooklyn and Pittsburgh. If money is all equal, I'd probably take any/all of those jobs over the Sens based on roster, locale and not having an owner who throws coaches under the bus mid-season.

Honestly doesn't sound like the NHL was offering her much of anything. Knowing them they offered a shitty position or something demeaning, and when she said no, they basically just flipped the bird and said enjoy not having an account. Really, really sucky. Her work is so great. Also, she pays for the content, really, since she uses GameCenter to make the things.

Yeah but the disclaimer the play by play guy reads at some point during every single pro sporting event basically says you cannot willfully disseminate any accounts or pictures of the game without the league and the team and sometimes the broadcaster's permission. Just because she pays for the content isn't enough.

Not saying she didn't do excellent work and as a fan this sucks and for a league that could use the publicity it is wasn't hurting but this was always going to be the outcome and we're lucky it lasted this long after the league partnered up with MLB media partners.

Technically, that means we shouldn't be able to discuss the games here. And when we do that, we are doing exactly what she did. Expressing our passion for the game in our way.

Hey now, people in South Florida are hearing about the Panthers now.

I'm sure the league has a perfectly viable plan on how to inform South Floridians that the Panthers being discussed are a hockey team and not an animal or black pride movement.

I am also sure the league has a plan on how to explain what hockey is, exactly.

You mean you didn't get that memo when they locked out the players twice in 8 years, cancelled an entire season and moved away franchises from cities where people actually liked the sport and moved them to places the sport was not suited for?

I would think fan excitement leads to more profits but I'm not a gnome so what do I know. What I do know is the way things are going I should have that team in Palm Springs just in time for me to retire there.

I'm curious how sites like hockeyfights.com are permitted to post NHL material on their site. Maybe they have expressed written consent from the NHL, but I doubt it.

That would be ideal, IMO. However, any new coach will be a huge improvement on Cameron.

We're talking about a guy who played Mark Borowiecki over Mike Hoffman on the first FORWARD line. Great balls of fuck!! How did he think this was a smart move on any level?

Seriously, I could make up a staff of SportsHoopla posters and do a better job than the staff in Ottawa did this year. And before anyone asks, no I have never actually met any of the posters here. I don't need to. This is a bar that has been set incredibly low.
