Well damn, this is disappointing. It looks like Stephanie Vail (@myregularface) has shut down her twitter account.

Rumblings are, job with the league.

That's better than the typical reason a woman shuts down her twitter account.

I hope she does get a job at the NHL. She does great work.

That's what I heard all last night. Her work on goal gifs is something else, and when the league announced changes (ala MLB) with using footage, most of us figured something would go down there. Really hoping it's a nice gig, but this also means we may lose gifs/real opinions/etc. Just hoping they let her do her own thing and don't restrict anything, especially because that account was likely very valuable.

Dreger on 1050 this morning said it's "highly unlikely' Stamkos comes to Toronto.

Anyone got a site I can bet every dime in my savings that he signs in Toronto?

Sounds like Maloney didn't want to part with a package to try to land Matthews. One thing's for sure, with Dave Tippett staying on, you know exciting Coyotes hockey will continue in the desert.

I don't know, after overseeing (well, seeing) the successful rebuild in Edmonton, Scott Howson should get another shot at running a ship.

If Laine is as good as he appears to be, and I've read that at least a few European scouts put him higher than Matthews, wouldn't it make sense for Edmonton to draft him 1st and then trade Hall/RNH/Yak for everything else they need?

Unless AZ seriously does want Matthews badly enough that they would move OEL+ for him, that seems like the smarter move to me.

The Winnipeg Jets have signed forward Kyle Connor to a three-year, two-way entry-level contract with an average annual value of US$1.775 million. The 19-year-old Connor had an NCAA-leading 71 points (35 goals, 36 assists) in 38 games last season as a freshman at the University of Michigan.

Connor finished the season on a 27-game point streak leading the Wolverines to a Big Ten Championship. The native of Shelby Township, Mich., was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award awarded to the top U.S. college player of the season.

I think Laine's going to be a good 1, same as Matthews. Think it would take a lot for a team to part with a pick to land him.

I expect AZ to make a huge, overpayment large, offer for the #1. Goes far beyond talent on-ice for them.

Me, I hope TOR gets the #1 and AZ moves into the top 3. Then a swap of picks plus OEL to TOR. Totally agree, AZ would be nuts to do it, but I really think they will see it as critical to get Matthews.
