Coming from a guy who keeps repeating that Tyutin and Johnson are tradeable despite the two of them combining for 17 points this season and both players having 2 seasons remaining on contracts that pay each player $4.3 million+, this is one of the most hypocritical things that's been written here in a while.

Were you an Oiler fan prior to your city getting a hockey team?

And if either of them was currently a Leaf, then you'd be showing all kinds of Corsi charts and comparable trades from the last 47 years showing how you are convinced each one is worth, at minimum, Drew Doughty.

We get it, everything revolves around Toronto. The rest of us are just Neophytes.

Finally, someone pointed out the Habs that they had AN ALL STAR MVP in the minors.

Neophyte, hypocrite, Fox Nation commenter...

Seriously, you sound like Donald Trump after someone points out how much of a moron he is.

Either Panarin or Gostisbehere, if McJesus gets the Calder, I'm gonna get stabby.

Statistically Speaking: Panarin deserves the Calder

If Ghost had been around all, I'd give it to him. He's on a 59 point pace.

Panarin's 72 points is just too much I think though.

McJesus just hasn't played enough games to join the race. You could make an argument that he shouldn't even be nominated.

I'm okay with him getting nominated. A point-per-game pace as a rookie doesn't happen often and a nomination is at least recognition of that as much as winning would be a sham.

I'm just waiting for the hue and outcry from Edmonton when McDavid doesn't win the Calder, they already think the league is out to sabotage them.

/4 1st overall picks in the last 6 years and the league is against them, you can't make this stuff up.

Statistically speaking.

Realistically speaking.

Hockey contributionally speaking.

Speaking in every conceivable way, Panarin needs to win it. It's not even close.

Only reason I don't like it is because he's played pro in KHL for a few years and is older...but that's a stretch.

Fixed it for as of May 1.

It's not like he's Sergei Makarov winning it. He's had a bit more experience, but to the rules, he's eligible. And he deserves it.

really?

I dont know the answer but did any other of the rookies have a stretch of 43 games where they were over a point per game this season?

Hey, who didn't like Sergei Makarov winning the Calder at age 31 after all those years playing for Central Red Army?

:D

I did.

If Only Tretiak had reported to the Canadiens in 82/83... That woulda been even better!

Like I said, it's a stretch. Just an interesting comparison when you consider the difference that four or five years makes vs guys like McDavid or Eichel. Ghost is obviously more seasoned too.

Do many people win awards when they've been missing for more than 40% of the season??

I dunno. McD winning it would be ludicrous. Should one of the nominees really not be even close to deserving of winning it? I could see why some would say no.

Assuming Panera Bread and Ghost are 1-2, who would be your third in lieu of McD?
