When asked about his move back to the Blackhawks Andrew Ladd said, "I mean its great but I'm still a Jet. When you’re a Jet, you’re a Jet all the way! From your first cigarette", takes long drag, "To your last dyin’ day."

First, lemme say how happy I am to be here and not at the swamp. I don't say that enough.

That said,

Fucking blatant and 95 times out of 100 that's at least 2 and likely a suspension. Will the league have the cojones to make the call here?

Yeah, I know. I crack myself up.

...two, yes absolutely. A suspension? Uhhh, no. The refs called a lot of stuff early in this game and then brushed their shoulders as if the work was done. Funniest part still remains Pierre saying the Caps were making it into a street fight after Chimera was called for embellishment when his jersey was pulled. Real West Side Story stuff Pierre.

I think there should be supplemental discipline.

It's an intentionally dirty play that had a good chance of ending a player's season. The league should put a stop to this kind of play. They need to at least talk to Sid about it.

Instead Gary'll send him a nice card asking Sid to please attend next year's ASG, and sorry, sorry, sorry for not inviting you this year. Not really sorry.

Yeah, I know. I crack myself up.

I think Torts may have hacked 43's account here on the Hoop :D

/All that was missing were the phrases "most arrogant organization in the league" and "they'll whine about something else over there".

Oh dear.

Can't tell if this is a tank move or a desperation move.

Either way this is not good.

Well Kenny, with Turris going down, they needed somebody to fill in at centre. He won't be eligible for the playoffs if the Sens make it because he was signed after the trade deadline.

Nah. I figured it out.

The Sens are gonna try to trade him for Ryan McDonagh. E4

Pageau moved up into the top 6 last night and scored twice. Let the kids figure it out is what I say.

Davey Cameron needs a useless veteran to thrown out there instead of a good young player, so I guess Gomez fits the bill. :mad2:

I like Gomez and all but as a Sens fan I don't see how this helps the team at all.

Maybe this is the reason for the Gomez move. Glad to see the Sens being super cautious with Mac. Shut it down for the season.

Lazar may be hurt too. But Gomez?? Oh well.

Hey, according to Dragon the Leafs didn't get enough back in return!

/He may have changed his tune over the course of the season, though.

Nope.

Retained fucking salary, man.

If Phil had 70 points right now instead I'm pretty sure you'd be saying not to judge the trade so early. So, yeah.
If Patrick Kane's production had slipped for 2 years in a row you'd be saying the same thing I'm saying about Phil.

It was a good trade. The Leafs will likely get a middle-of-the-round pick, Kapanen looked impressive in his first game in a Leafs uni and hopefully that continues, and $1.2 million is a small chunk of change to swallow for that return.

Better than an $8 million 50 pt scorer for another 6 years.

Here is one player's point totals.

Age 26: 78 points in 74 games
Age 27: 88 points in 81 games
Age 28: 57 points in 75 games
Age 29: 58 points in 81 games

Is this player finished and no longer a top scorer?

Want to guess whose stat line that is?

They gave up their 2nd rounder in the trade too though. It's not a naked 1st round pick, it's a half round upgrade at best.

If the trade had simply been a 1st, Kapanen and Harrington we'd be having a totally different conversation.

Remember that when all of these young guys need to get paid in the same couple of offseasons and there's still Kessel salary on the books. Or when years from now the Leafs need to retain salary on someone in order to deal him and can't do it because Kessel is still taking up one of the spots on their retention list.
