I agree with all that you said, but what's wrong with taking the high road? I mean, picking on JFJ is like continuing to throw balls at the fat, slow moving kid in dodgeball.

Hahahaha yes true - but I'm sure if you had one opportunity to throw a ball at him you would too

Has the Odog been hacked? I know he's a loose cannon, but what is to be gained by taking shots at JFJ?!?

He's probably still bitter about being a healthy scratch at the end of his time as a Leaf, and Paul Maurice is still a coach so he might need to get a quote from him so he's not gonna blame him for it. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Maurice told him it was JFJ's decision.

One could say the same about making Leafs jokes too. And yet we still make them.

DarrenDreger: Understandably, gm's continue to call Pittsburgh on potential of James Neal trade. Nothing worth considering at the moment.

Biggest change in Kesler situation last 24 hours: more teams are trying to get in on the action. But would Kesler waive for them or not?

bidding war!!!!!!

If that's the case, that's a very good contract for the Blues. Maybe it is a sign and trade for cheapskate Melnyk.

Is it really though? Berglund's numbers are rather underwhelming over the last three seasons , seasons that probably should have been his statistical peak. And he seems to already be in decline.

Over the last two seasons Berglund has put up 57 points in 126 games, or 0.45 PPG. I took a look and there are 13 other centres with 4+ years of prior NHL experience (weeding out the guys on cheap entry level deals) who played more than 100 games and averaged between 0.40 and 0.50 PPG over the past 2 seasons. 11 of them made less than $3.7 million last year (Briere and Olli Jokinen were higher), and they averaged just $2.44 million. I don't think it's a bad deal, but it's not a super bargain.

Yeah, you're probably right, I may be overvaluing Berglund a little. I will say he probably could have received more on the market, but maybe he likes it in St. Louis and I think the Blues got him at a pretty reasonable price.

I do know this much, when the rumour was floated that the Leafs offered Kadri straight up for him I prayed to every god I know of that it wasn't true and wouldn't happen.

It reminds me of the classic Brian Burke line: "If you're going to rob me, at least have the decency to wear a mask"

DarrenDreger: Cap teams are getting nervous as NHL-NHLPA continue discussions on next years salary cap. Less than $70 mil will be problematic for many.

It sounded last night that other teams are entering the fray, but they are likely teams that Kesler wouldn't waive his NTC to join.
