If they do literally anything else they’re just shooting themselves in the foot.
The Chicago way

It is all in the plans

Lemieux - 1984
Crosby - 2005
Bedard - 2023

I just need some weird conspiracy theory to make the numbers work.
Diana's love child with Trump and Jimi Hendrix have recorded a song about it. It's going to be released on Myspace as part of Myspace's resurgence into the biggest website on earth.

So I've seen the stats that show the uptick, but what are the leading theories on why this is happening? I haven't seen any ideas that wouldn't also apply to 5-10 years ago or more. I can't recall when the 2-line pass rule left the game. It's one of those I'm getting older things where I think it was like 6 or 7 years ago and then find out it was like 2003. Lol.

I think the majority of the uptick in scoring has to do with the compressed schedule and guys being tired. Defensive lapses and likely an increase in turnovers in the defensive zone creating more scoring opportunities. I haven't looked at any advanced stats to confirm this, just a guess.

This and I wonder if the goalie quality gone down hill in recent seasons?

I'm not saying Johnny Gaudreau should be the Hart trophy winner, but it's a snub to not see him higher...

Sorry but someone’s still gotta tell me how they view Huberdeau higher than McDavid before anything else.

To me there are 5 guys who could be legit Hart winners this year.

Gaudreau
Matthews
Josi
McDavid
Huberdeau

I would see nothing wrong with any of them winning it.

This is not a knock on Shesterkin, but he only appeared in 53 games this season for the Rangers. If you want to give him the Vezina, I have no objection, but when a guy doesn't appear in over a quarter of the games for the team, it's difficult in my opinion to award him the Hart.

With Pittsburgh beating the shit out of CBJ it looks like Fla-Wash is penciled in.

Boston seems to have mailed it in enough to get Carolina making TB-TOR official barring Toronto suddenly scoring a bunch on their own net.

So disappointing. I desperately wanted Toronto to have to play Boston in the first round again.
