I remember a Flames game versus the Devils at the Meadowlands in the 80's that was played despite a massive snowstorm. The 334 Club was created that night for the number of fans in attendance. Devils beat the Flames that night 7-5

HAH... I watched a bit of a Bruins game* in the past week and Andy Brickley was talking about that game. Saying he left his house at 2 pm and got to the arena at 9pm local time. Devils had 7 players present at game time so the game was delayed.

/* fuck is Jack Edwards hard to listen to! Is something wrong with him health wise? slurred speech ... delayed reactions ... If not ... he's even shittier than he used to be if thats possible :sly:

This puff piece on SportsNet reminded me:

I met Barrie last Saturday at Bridgestone before the NSH-NYI game. Very nice, friendly man. Still shaking an injury, wonder if he gets moved once he is healthy.

In the late 80's I went to a Canucks Habs game, that must have had 500 people tops.

Picked my dad up at noon on Guilford for a 7pm game at the Pacific Coliseum
Made it with three hours to spare and just hung out on whatever that bar/restaurant was across the street on Renfrew.

Ushers at the rink just told us to sit wherever.

I drove my Chevy Sprint, that thing was amazing I the snow. Like 95% of the weight was in the engine, so right over the front wheel drive tires. Drove past dozens of cars in the ditch on the freeway.

Can't believe this isn't being hyped up more. Incredible if he can pull it off.
If I was a ref I’d find a way to give him a game misconduct after he gets one point. We can’t have anybody surpassing a legend like this.

Where's Stan Jonathan when you really need him?

Both statements can be true

I think NHL refs have a tough job, but I also think we've lost the plot with coaches challenges. It makes no sense to me that you can challenge for a missed stoppage of play, but you can't challenge for a missed penalty. A ref doesn't call a penalty for a missed trip which directly leads to a goal and we're all supposed to be fine with that outcome, but a puck tips off a glove to a 50/50 puck battle and 10 seconds later, a goal is scored but upon further review the play should have been stopped. Seems very inconsistent to this fan.
