It's always fun when a player is hit illegally and the old school announcers find a way to blame the person hit.

Well in Robinson's defense, Kane made the exact same hit last night and no penalty was called.

I didn't see it. And that hit is not the worst in the world, but it is from behind. So I think it's kind of dumb to blame the player.

It is interesting that this was assessed a 5 min major...Inconsistency remains consistent in the NHL. Here's a former ref's take on the Kane hit last night on Brodin.

This is the loudest I have heard the Buffalo arena in quite some time. Great game between the Habs and Sabres and we need OT.

Perron was responding to this hit on Larkin, by the way...Larkin does have a bad history with concussions.

Unfortunate but I really don't see any intent from Joseph or Kelly.

And all Zub did was call for help. David Perron is trash. He should get 5 games for that shit.

And the Perron went after had absolutely nothing to do with the first hit

The league has the option to give him more...

It's all good... They TALKED to evander

A lot of talk on social media that Brodin is at fault for not protecting himself and it's a good hit by Kane and the ref obviously agrees as no penalty was called - I mean, Kane could have decided to just pin Brodin against the boards, but instead decided to put him on LTIR.

This one is an uncontested layup...

The Doctor.

Was he known as that anywhere else or just in Pittsburgh?

/oh Christ it was a Mike Lange nickname given to him because of his “surgeon like precision”

I never heard him referred to by that moniker, but I was surprised to see the 193 PIM in 88-89, what a goon lol

It's because the refs are always out to get the Pens.

1) If the refs would police things in games properly, players wouldn't have to do it themselves.

2) What time is Cousins' hearing?
