It's not a replay that you can make any conclusions off of but I can definitely see a scenario where it was an intentional, heat of the moment colossal fuckup. The fact the offender apparently has a history of shitty plays doesn't help his cause.
That said, UK justice system being arrested doesn't mean he's being charged, it just means the police have enough of a reason to hold and question. They're doing their DD.

Just go back to ties and give the bonus point to winning games in regulation like most soccer leagues. 3 points for a regulation win, 1 point each for a tie, zero points for a loss. You should be rewarded for winning games the "right" way, not through a gimmick that you don't see once the playoffs start.
