Just to be clear, in no way am I supporting the action of Hamas. All I'm saying is that it's not as straight-forward a situation as the NHL statement appears to be conveying above. At times, it's better to remain quiet then issue a statement that in my opinion just muddies the waters even more.

Usually in Arab-Israeli scuffles I’d agree but when they’re just flat out massacring innocent civilians without even a hint of military purpose there’s only one clear bad guy at the moment.

The NHL might have some gay players but they definitely have some Jewish ones who are probably pretty shocked at what’s happened there and, more importantly, frightened by the support these pricks have gotten from people here at home, in their hometowns, in places they visit and drive through. If it’s important to show gay people that the hockey community supports them it’s just as important for the Jewish community to know that the hockey community supports them.

The visuals were pretty cool (the banner being raised coming out of a slot machine), but we're hearing more and more stories these days of young people (men mainly) becoming addicted to gambling on sports with how easy it is to do these days. The NHL doesn't seem to think it's an issue, though, if anything, they're doubling down on it (pardon the pun).

2/3 of the 4th line got knocked out of the game, and the Tanev injury is extra concerning, especially with the past ACL issues.
