Braves have got off to a better start than expected. Not sure how sustainable that is with guys like Preston Tucker and Ryan Flaherty playing out of their minds, and Freddie Freeman having an OBP of well over .600 and the team hitting nearly .500 with RISP.

But have zero complaints about the offense.

Pitching as a whole sucks. Folty has been solid, but Teheran still can't pitch at home, and we've yet to have a starter finish 6 innings.

Bullpen is shaky at best. Haven't allowed many runs, but they play with fire most every inning, and at some point, that will bite them.

All in all though, I'm pleased. First time we've been 2+ games over .500 since April of 2015. I know it won't last, but I'll enjoy it while it does.

I'm confident that the offense will be competent all year. I doubt we'll see many more 15 and 13 run outputs, but 5-6 runs per game isn't out of the question. Pitching will keep us from getting anywhere though.

Red Sox starters getting it done early on.. Sox bullpen shaky and eh right now.
JD trying to hard but he should be just fine..
Base running still is suspect at best
Came back nicely after the opening game disaster from the bullpen

Happy with the Red Sox and pleasantly surprised by the Blue Jays.

I'm thinking the Tigers need to build a dome.

hasn't done much of anything to change how I felt about the Sox bullpen. There's a pretty good amount of uncertainty outside of Kimbrel, especially with the setup role. The rotation should be among the best in the AL and the offense should be considerably better, though it hasn't been the case just yet. Overall, I thought this team was looking at 91-94 wins coming into the season and I don't feel any different about that.

the Sox were 10th in BsR (Fangraphs' base running stat) in 2017.

3 and 3 with two starters and a closer down and no hitting? I'm satisfied.

What do you mean ... we are having some great January weather.

Starting pitching looks promising, relief pitching, offense is fair, and defense looks okay. We are on track to lose just under 100 games. Not really any surprises. I do like the early returns on Gardenhire as manager, but we need a new hitting coach.

I am going to go out on a limb and say the Tigers win 75 games this year. I don't think y'all are as bad as last seasons record says you are.

The Yankees have some growing pains to go through with Boone as the manager. Hopefully they have enough talent to overcome any of his mistakes.

I am interested to see what Aaron Judge does this season ... two year ago he was the Yankees' JaCoby Jones. I am also interested to see what Shohei Ohtani does this season. I figured he fall flat, but early returns are pointing to the real deal!!!

I expect Judge will hit about 40-45 home runs with a high number of strikeouts and walks. The biggest issue I have seen with Judge's game is he does not adjust very well in season.

Shohei will be interesting to see what he does when they find the holes in his swing and figure out his pitches. How does he adjust.

Let's see how he does this year. Last year was his first full season in the league so now he probably knows what to expcect. I'm pretty sure he will do a better job of that in year 2.

I've had a different opinion after every game but overall I'm somewhat optimistic.

Last year should have been his 3rd or 4th year in the bigs. Pretty ridiculous that Harper and Trout are younger than he is, and have been around for a while now.
