So my freshman year back in '07, you could buy student tickets for $10.

Last year I paid 50 for a 300 level high row seat

now i have to pay at least $130 for the same seat

Looks like I won't be seeing the Sharks this year :(

Considering it's a SC winner, it's a huge city with lots of new fans, and lots of rich fans, that sounds about right. Heck, Pittsburgh is a much smaller market, but I know my dad paid about 100 per ticket upper level. So, factoring in the big city thing, that makes sense.

Only $40+ if you get a half season, so just use that 2K you have lying around.

Canucks are probably hoping they play Phoenix in the first round in order for the fans to get affordable tickets in Glendale.

the above was an example of what season ticket holders are paying ... no clue what single game tickets will cost ... or how many will be available for that matter

Its really ridiculous how much they charge... But as long as people pay them, they will stay ridiculous.

I'm with you on this one, I havent been to a game yet this season. They want 30 bucks for standing room only tickets.

I was paying $38 a standing room only ticket for the Minnesota Wild back in 2003 - and this was for a team that had never made the playoffs...

I'm happy Pens tickets are reasonable when bought in bulk. I just drop the 2K and sell some later. Though honestly Pens fans, if you look at Stubhub and Craigslist before the games, you can normally find reasonably priced tickets, specifically when it's not any sort of special game.

Yeah, Loki is on it. You gotta hit up Craigslist at the start of the year - especially on the days when season ticket holders have their tickets arrive or at the last minute when someone needs to really unload a ticket.

Here is my year in Caps' tickets. Keep in mind the cheap seats are in the $45-75 range this year.

-Bought half a dozen at season ticket holder's price from one seller in October - $28 x 6 = $168 cost
-Bought pair of Caps-Pens tickets at start of year for $75 each from same guy (sold as game drew near for $260) = $110 profit
-Bad weather in DC, cheap tickets an hour before the game = $15
-Missed 1st period, bought from desperate scalper = $10
-Night I paid too much from a scalper = $45
-Decent price on Stubhub = $30

All told - that's 10 games for about $158, or less than $20 a ticket. Probably around $600 worth of tickets all told.

It's all about timing, weather, demand/opponent. You plan ahead and play the game right, you can see a lot of hockey for a reasonable price.

That works some times, but some markets it is impossible.

Two tickets to 20 games @ $47.50 each (roughly...it's somewhere around there...half season ticket price in the 200 level, one section off center where the Pens shoot once).

$1,900.

Estimating I probably sold ten pairs for around $150 per pair.

$1,500.

I pay $400 to go to ten games with a friend. I probably spend more than that on beer over the course of a season.

Of course, I just remembered the waiting list is rather long these days, so unless you already have your name down, I guess that's not an option.

In Detroit they have a special where you can show up without a ticket, stab somebody who has a ticket, and then get their ticket FOR FREE!
