Eh the B10 is a far more storied conference than the B8 or B12. You are correct in that the leagues rep suffered for roughly a 10 year period but that was pretty much solely because of OSU losing a few title games in blowout fashion. Even then the league still had representation on a national scale in title games, BCS bowls, Final 4's etc. The worst 10 year period for the B10 is still preferrable to about 90% of other leagues.

Not since about 1950.

Rember whn all the Nebraska fans said their team would NEVER leave for the B10?? NEVER!!! LOL. After they did leave we all heard how Nebraska would DOMINATE the B10 for years to come... Yeah not so much. It was the same story when the league got Penn State. Oh well I am sure that IF Oklahoma leaves the B12 for the B10 we will all be treated to the same story. Thatll be fun

They struggled to win the Big 12 North, nobody said that.

100 degrees on the field

which means about 85 degrees air temp. Still hot, but nothing like down here. 120 minimum on the field

It's not something to brag about, just a fact of life for us. Kind of like the cold is for you guys up there.

oh yeah, first half of September is extremely hot for us. Home games are a pain, literally, in early September.

Plus, it was 120 on the field, not air temp, that was being discussed above.

We get 100 degree days in Sept.

September in Oklahoma and Texas sucks. Not as much as August though. November is where it's at.

Absolutely. When other peoples are layering up, we go to games that are sunny, 70 degrees. Best time of year.

shit, all this talk takes me back to two-a-days in high school, in mid-August, full pads, 100Plus degrees...not really sure how we survived.

Numerous times, carrying some big lard ass who's gone into heat stroke/stress mode, with the eyes rolled up into his head, to the showers...back when coaches handed out water like it was a rare commodity...

Nostalgia

How about that 3 man roll bullshit we had to do? The grass was always wet or there were a bunch of stickers or you had a sore place that kept getting hit every time you'd hit the ground.

True ebough but thats a 1 season basis. The B10 features 4 of the best 10-15 football schools traditionally speaking all time in OSU, Michigan, Penn State and Nebraska. The B10 did so by seeing where stuff was headed and adding those schools. The B12, as I see it now, is kind of in the same boat the B10 was in early 90's. Its Texas/Oklahoma and everyone else. Yes many of the other schools have good runs on a seasonal or even multi seasonal basis but they still arent considered traditional powers. Thats not to even speak to basketball where the B10 is clearly dominant over the B12. Its not really a matter of whether the B10 is currently better or not, its amtter of which league has sustainability and the B12 is in trouble. Eventually someone will either poach Texas OR they will leave on their own and become an independent. Once that happens its curtains for the league and its better to leave before that and be able to decide your own fate. Oklahoma and Kansas are both fortunate in that they both have storied history in one of the 2 major sports so they have options. Many other schools in the league wont have that luxury.
Curious how you feel about the ACC. One program worth a watch and no conference network and its undefeated team had trouble staying in the top 4 last year to even make the playoff then got exposed as a fraud. They have recently won NC in football, basketball and baseball yet make less money than everyone else. Think maybe there may be some disgruntled folks in that crowd?

Oklahoma:

1-0 vs Michigan

1-1 vs Ohio St. (play in Norman next year)

45-38-3 vs Nebraska

2-0 vs Iowa

2-0 vs Wisconsin

2-0 vs Penn St.

2-0 vs Minnesota

I don't think OU is too scared of the Big 10.
