Perhaps this has been discussed elsewhere, but it appears Alex Smith pulled a veteran move on the refs last night to get his team a FG with time running out in the first half. The WFT was out of time outs. Smith took the ball after a play and ran to the sidelines. That caused confusion among the refereeing crew who could not find the ball and called an officials' time out. That allowed the WFT to get its special teams unit on the field and hit the FG.
