I'd actually like seeing that, mainly because I can't stand the effing Cubs.

A lot of ifs, but all are at least realistic. I('m still going with 2020 as the year we really start to bust a move, but no doubt if Machado does sign, with the uber-weak AL Central, anything is possible.

Yep 2020 is when the window opens. They try to win at a .500 clip this year, then really push next year. Machado works because he's only 26, just entering his prime then. Like all big contracts the last couple years will suck, but that's the price you pay to try to get a ring in your window.

Doesn't Machado just reek of a Raul Mondesi type guy who gets his money then collects his paycheck and plays out the string?

Yeah I know they are at different stages of their careers but wow.

That's why I'd like to see the ChiSox build around him. An offensive centerpiece in his prime.

Any second now would be nice. The Chris Johnson minor league signing isn’t going to propel them to the playoffs is my guess.

Definitely a risk but shit who doesn't want to win. If he signs it's because he buys into the Sox being an up and coming contender. Plus he could win an MVP

A 30 year old minor leaguer with a .380/.470/.1100 lifetime AAA slash line that we're just waiting for the "right time" to bring up to retain that extra year of control. lol
