Offseason After Week 1

So far we've lost more talent then we have gained; BUT the team isn't any worse IMO. Look at the depth chart.

QB- Same
RB- negative impact so far
FB- Better
WR- Same
TE- Same
OL- Same
DL- Better with the addition of DLaw for a full season
LB- If you resign McClain you have a better starting unit with Lee coming back it's like a big FA pick up in him. Lee, McClain, Hitch vs Hitch, McClain, Carter most of last year. So plus with resign of McClain
CB- Same if not better once Mo gets healthy
S- Same
ST- Same

We still have the draft, some FA left, and June 1st cuts.....This team will only get better IMO only question is still can we add pass rush, a true FS, and replace Murray. I'd like to see us add one more WR to be honest, Crabs on a 1-2 year prove it deal would be nice incase the run game isn't what it should be, we'd have options.

I liked the signing of Jasper Brinkley as well, not a superstar, but a quality LB who could start or add depth. FB is without a doubt improved. As you said, there are a lot of ways for the Cowboys to continue to improve between now and the start of the season. I'd still like to see a RB in the first three rounds, with so many nice prospects available, and as you said, DE and FS. Wouldn't mind seeing a CB early as well. Still a lot to do

I don't think that us getting a DE in will be a fix, if we are picking at the end of the 1st, and I also don't see us picking a 1tech in the first as we don't value 1techs i.e. Floyd getting passed on for Frederick. I say go with one of the RB's if they fallor if not maybe one of the Collins Safeties (LSU or Bama) I think either would be a nice fit and could be there. Also as a side note I wouldn't mind taking a chance on Green-Beckham if either of those options aren't there, would give us leverage on Dez if we don't get a deal done this year. Numerous options to make this team better IMO.

Improvement will have to come via the draft. There is a glut of excellent RB's available and also some very good DB's.

Melvin Gordon was exceptional last season and had a great combine workout. There is a chance he'll be available when the Cowboys draft in the first round.

Tevin Coleman from Indiana is the back I'd like to see in Dallas...bare none
This guy is an absolute stud and more than likely there at our 2nd pick. Coleman was all Indiana had and he tore it up. The other backs are good but this guy is my pick of the litter

I'll tel you this much, if Dallas lands Holliman first round, and RB Tevin in the second Id say the offseason was a success even without additional pass rush in FA or rounds 1-2.
