Hopefully Miller steps up on the big stage like he did at the last Olympics. He was a big part of why we made it as far as we did.

I wonder if Yzerman would have selected Bishop if he had been born on this side of the 49th parallel...

I'm not too incredibly worried about the third string goalie, but I will say I'm a bit surprised Howard got on the roster considering his recent issues. My question is who gets the start? My gut says Quick, but Miller shined on this stage.

I think Quick's time missed due to injury and looking mediocre up to that point has to make Miller the de facto starter unless something changes.

Miller's .927 SV% is 10th in the league and way ahead of either Howard or Quick. And it's only .002 off from his Vezina year when he played for a significantly better team.

Miller sure looked good Friday night against the Leafs (likely the main reason the Sabres got a point out of that game).

I have no problem with Miller being on the team. He's actually played well for a team that has had a lot of trouble scoring. I think Howard getting a spot is bad news for a guy like Kyle Okposo who's tied for 17th in the league in scoring going into tonights games. It seems like Team USA is being chosen on reputation rather than how guys are playing this season. We shall see.

Apparently guys aren't being told they're on the roster until it's announced during the Winter Classic. Weird.

Hell yeah we are!!

Honestly I don't know about that, I have doubts about this roster and how they went about picking these guys - we'll see but I'm not going to be the first guy to raise my hand if asked whether they can win it all

USA will be a contender on goaltending alone - The team that scares me the most though is Sweden.

Bobby Ryan comments from bruce garrioch

Ryan says Burke called him yesterday. Hasn't returned the call.

Ryan said he felt what Burke had to say about his intensity was "gutless."

"I thought he thought more of me as a player," says Ryan

"They were direct quotes. It's unfortunate they feel that way. They've got to form a team," says Ryan. "I guess to a certain degree u (cont)

have to respect it. You don't have to agree with it, right? I certainly don't. They could have just cut me (laughs). You didn't have to ...

"Actually I almost feel degraded when it comes out like that. It is what it is. That's their decison and that's how they feel about me ...

"I will remember it and use it as motivation. That's all you can really do," says Ryan

cant agree w/ him more on that.. an article from an espn writer isn't how he should find out why he wasn't selected.. gotta at least have the stones to talk to the player about it yourself. maybe you don't feel like you should have to have that conversation, but if that's how you feel, dont allow reporters in the room with you while you have these conversations, because it's going to get out.
