LOL not after today.
For the most part he's been pretty good since the beginning of June and he would cost practically nothing. Tho Dan Haren wouldn't be a bad option either.

He's been a lot better than bedard lately
Haren's recent success has been against PHL, MIL and MIA going 7.0 in each and giving up only 3ERs total (1.29ERA). Bedard has not done as well.
He's done very good in July and August though
Bedard Jul and Aug ... 8 outings including today ... 5 decisions (all losses) ... TEX (2), TBR (2), SEA (1), TOR (1), MIN (1), OAK (1). One of the TEX games and the MIN game were no decisions.

EDITED: Those numbers 40.2IP and 18ER (3.98ERA) doesn't count today's game @ OAK when he gave up 5ER in 4.2IP. So his 3.98ERA over the two months grew to 4.56ERA.
For Bedard to be of interest in my opinion he would need to have shown success against teams TEX would face down the stretch. Of the opponents ... he's faced recently or even looking back at his whole season ... compared to TEX schedule to go ... I see more weakness than strength.
IMO ... As a #5 his spot will come up too often against teams where his contribution would not be as good as what TEX can put up without Bedard.

With that being said I still rather have Dan haren
That was my point. Over Jul-Aug Haren's got 37IP and 2.43ERA w/.198BAA.

Ohhh gotcha my bad. Also his advanced number like FIP and xFIP are really good. #2-3 starter worth
When Haren vs Bedard was proposed earlier ... I thought Bedard might be the better choice given his currency in the AL. Haren's July-August though has been pretty stout.
Yup. But haren has been in the AL before hint hint "angels"
Yea I know ... but dates to 2011 and 2010 was his better most recent season. I think that is too long ago although he's probably as current as Garza was/is. LAA didn't resign him ... guess they thought CJ would be all they needed.
Cj was signed before he left. But his numbers the last 2 months match his first full season with the angels
Just read where Kirkman had a great rehab outing. Could be nice to get him back to help take some pressure off Ross in the BP. 5IP, 1BB, 7K's, no runs.
Noooooo!!!!!!
