Overall, HIAC was a pretty good PPV with Becky winning, a good WWE Title match, a good tag match, and I enjoyed the Hardy/Orton match as well.

But the Universal Title match was fucking shitshow dumpster fire. Terrible ending

The ending was actually a great way to lead in to Raw tomorrow. Everyone expected Brock to be done so for him to get involved means there’s a lot of intrigue going into tomorrow.

Who gives a fuck about the lead in to Raw? They just ruined what could have been a good match with an overbooked mess. And the last thing people want to see is more Brock Lesnar. The last 6 to 8 months was people just begging for them to take the title off of him for any reason whatsoever because it was so dreadfully boring and predictable. Brock being back is like the complete opposite of intrigue

Considering they just got $1 billion for SmackDown, they care about TV. In case you haven’t noticed TV is the majority of their revenue now which means they’re going to do things to help TV. And complaining about this is like complaining about the finish to the Undertaker/Shawn Michaels hell in a cell during the Attitude Era that everyone seems to never shut up about, you know the one where Kane interfered. There’s been billions of interference in Hell in a cell matches in WWE history and this was no different.

It was a great match and the finish only furthers the issue between all three men that Brock certainly should have an issue with. People bitch and moan all the time that WWE never follows continuity and just ignores everything well this was them not ignoring what happened at SummerSlam.

Also Brock was told he’ll have to wait forever to get his contractually obligated rematch. He had every reason to ruin the main event. Look I get it you hate Brock Lesnar and you think he was over exposed and to somewhat I agree but as we saw tonight with the fans in the arena they love Brock Lesnar because he’s a bad ass and that’s good enough for them. Brock isn’t even back full-time we know that but they have an Australian show to build too and him on it definitely adds more interest then if he wasn’t. Sorry if you’re letting your hatred cloud your better judgment and you can’t see that.

Having a no contest in a HiAC match is almost as bad as wcws getting someone winning by count out in a fall count anywhere match

They should turn AJ. The build was intense and the match itself was excellent but you could hear a pin drop during Styles/Joe. Styles works better as a heel. The club are already on SD too. I know SD is heel heavy right now but a main event program with AJ/The Club vs. Bryan writes itself.

The ending to the tag match was perfect.

The main event was a total clusterfuck but it protected Reigns and Stowman who are probably the most important guys on the roster right now.

Almas, Nakamura and Finn all weren't on the show. They have too much roster depth for their own good. Almas could still be in the main event scene of NXT putting on classic matches.

I'm torn on the main event. While I agree with Duffman that TV is their main revenue stream along with these deals in Saudis Arabia and Australia and Lesnar helps drive revenues, I also agree that a No Contest in a HIAC main event seems lame. If Brock is ticked he's not getting his rematch, why wouldn't he take out Strowman and help Reigns win to preserve his rematch. He has no contractual rematch against Braun but he does against Roman. And, why wait so long for the Brock run in??? The other run in by Shield/Dogs of War should've never reach the cage. They should've brawled on the stage and then into the back making us think we're getting a one-on-one match and then Brock runs in to lay waste to Strowman giving Roman the win and still setting up issues between all 3.

the short answer to all this is: Strowman should've taken the belt at WM.

Right!!! This while angle has been booked backwards IMO.

Reigns should've been chasing Braun with Braun using the Dogs of War to keep Reigns at bay. So, Reigns calls on his buddies in the Shield to even the score. The fly in the ointment no matter how you cut it to this angle is Brock's part-timer status. It's not believable that he is so pissed at being shut out of the title picture that he waits 3-4 weeks til the next PPV to extract his revenge. He should've showed up at the next Raw after Heyman's request for a rematch was rebuffed to lay waste to all until it was granted or he was suspended. And had a reason not to be on TV. Of course, they've used that suspension thing to keep him off TV too much already but they could've made it a Raw only suspension so Lesnar could show up on SmackDown before being suspended from there only to show up at the PPV cause no GM was smart enough to ban him from those.

That's way more logic than WWE ever uses, so I know no way they'd ever book it like that.

I think they are just trying to keep Reigns fighting, no matter who or what happens, just so they can say he has been champ for a Lesnar time frame. The only guy Lesnar should have been made at was Curt Angle for not giving him his rematch.

But then they took Kurt off TV, so Lesnar had to take his anger out on someone else.

Im pissed that there was no end to the Tittle match but i get it. Lesnar deserves a rematch.

Should have done it better: Yes

But what done is done. Let's Move on to tonight. Let's have Heyman build up the match at survivor series.

IMO have a Tournament where there is a 4th man
In the match, IMO Finn, gets inserted in the match.

Fatal 4 way for the belt sounds good to me.

    Ok.

    1) Save that later. Would make a helluva WM match but that WWE title match was amazing.

    2) That is the issue with the Dual Branded PPV. Why they went back to monthly is beyond me

You damn well know it was shit match and you're just being a contrarian for the sake of it. Carrying about TV has nothing to do with putting on an overbooked clusterfuck. You can put on Brock Lesnar without having 20 different moving parts that cloud everything up and leave your crowd pissed.

The 20 different moving parts are what takes the focus off Reigns being booed, and I think that's their goal. The fans aren't going to boo Reigns when his Shield teammates are out there, and will likely be in shock if there's shenanigans/

It feels like they just want to keep the title on Reigns for as long as possible with minimal booing, and they're willing to sacrifice match quality to do that.

It was not shit match, it was a damn good one and the finish didn’t hurt anything to me. You have two people who both have teams backing him up so obviously they’re going to get involved and then you have Brock who thinks he lost the title by getting screwed because of Strowman coming out so he has a problem and isn’t going to sit back and let it happen. That’s classic booking. Now we’re likely going to get a good angle coming from Raw tonight and while they already have a match scheduled at the Australian super show we could see a 3 way at Survivor Series and that should also be a good match.

Go back and watch every single Hell in a cell match in history, you’ll find 90% of them are “an overbooked clusterfuck” according to your reasoning. These matches always have some type of interference if the storyline calls for it and this storyline called for it, so maybe try putting aside your hatred of Brock or Roman or whoever and look at the bigger picture instead of bitching to high heaven because you don’t know what building a story means and creating interest for the future.

A 4-way match at the next PPV makes sense to me. Reigns, Lesnar, Strowman and a 4th guy that could be determined in a tournament.

Except Brock did sit back and let it happen for 3-4 weeks before he took action. That's classic WWE booking.
