Russia is slowly pulling away. Kovy just made it 2-0. Malkin and Ovechkin still missing in action. It's been Radulov and Kovalchuk carrying the play.

I wasn't sure where to Rant about this so I will stick it here.

I can't believe that Sweden was awarded the top seed in the Oympic Hockey bracket. This ensures that the USA and Canada will not meet in the Gold Medal game. Instead, it looks like the Gold Medal game will consist of the USA-Canada winner vs the Sweden-Russia/Finland winner. Yes, I do give Finland a chance against the home squad.

I would have much preferred a US/Russia semifinal vs Canada. It seems to me the Russians deserve another chance against the US after the way that game went. It would have been been an electrically charged game. Most Russians feel the game was stolen from them and that Quick displayed some poor sportsmanship. Can't say I disagree.

Is this the traditional Russian enigma that the team with the most pure goal scorers in the tourney is struggling to score goals on the likes of Norway and Slovenia?

Yeah, 3 for a regulation win, 2 for an overtime win, 1 for an overtime loss, and 0 for a regulation loss. The Swedes were the only team to win all three games in regulation. Canada and the US each won one in overtime or the shootout, but the US had the better goal differential. Finland had the best record of any team which didn't win its group.
