Love would basically have to force a sign and trade with the Lakers for Gasol. Don't see that happening.

I haven't really been keeping up with Love's situation. But if I'm Love, just wait it out one more year. It's not like either the T-Wolves or Lakers are in contention at the moment. Afterwards, just go to the Lakers as a free agent next offseason..

1. I think Kobe will still play at a high level IF he can stay healthy. I don't think anyone thinks he forgot how to play the game.

2. I know these guys play with each other all summer. On the court they compete, as they should, but they in a lot of cases are good friends off the court. They all talk, they all plan, they all plot.
Some people act like the Heat Big 3 talking before uniting was some groundbreaking event.


3. As far as Melo, I saw where his 1st 4 years in LA would 'only' be around 8M less than NY. I'm trying to think of a reason why he thinks LA would be a better situation than NY, but I can't.

1.) I don't think it's a matter of whether or not he knows how to play the game from a mental standpoint. I think it would be to show that he's okay physically.

2.) Agree. I think the thing with the big 3 is how blatant they were about it.

3.) According to reports, 'Melo liked that the Lakers have no long term contracts on the books, he liked the Lakers plans for the future and of course, he and Kobe are very close friends. It's also been said that he liked their approach which was low key rather than the clusterfuck of the Dwight situation.

I agree (especially about the coming to the Lakers part). The question will be whether or not Minny is willing to just let him walk or if they trade him to a team of his choice to attempt to at least get something for him.

Not necessarily true. Pau and Ricky Rubio are friends and play on the Spanish National team. Minny certainly wouldn't be his first choice, but I think if he doesn't get picked up by a contender and if the money was right, he'd agree to a sign and trade. But I agree that it would be a bit of a longshot.
