I think it would be to drive/keep the price up for Love. When this started, GSW's stance was that there's no way Klay Thompson gets included. Now, with Cleveland, the Bulls and apparently the Celtics in the mix, we have Steven A. saying he knows for a fact that Klay is included. While I don't consider Steven A. to be particularly credible, there is too much noise from too many other sources saying that Klay was included for it not to have merit.

There has to be more to it than that.

The price would go up if they simply refused the offer, they don't need Chicago or anyone else to drive up the price. They've publicly said no one on the Cleveland roster outside of Wiggins is of any value to them......and they aren't going to trade an all star for a rookie.

This talk that Cleveland has the best offer on the table, for those reasons, is nonsense. They want WAAAY more than Wiggins, and Cleveland doesn't have the WAAAY portion of it.

So the question remains......what is it they are REALLY after? I think it's plain to most of us......Minny is not in rebuild mode, so I find it highly questionable that they'd even entertain Wiggins at this point. Trading for him would mean a total rebuild.

I think they want the GS offer, and are trying to extort more in that deal than what's being offered.

Pisses me off that he was had at such a low price.

I would much rather have him than Farmer.

I bet he will be the Starter there by December.

I would have brought him in also.

Before we traded for Lin and got a couple draft picks. Even now, we could have brought him in and used the stretch provision on Nash.

They haven't " sniffed " the playoffs in all the time that Love has been on the roster.

So, how is this situation different?

The fact that they are trying to get Klay Thompson tells me that they are not solely looking for projects.

They did "sniff" the playoffs last year, IMO, especially considering all the games missed by their 2nd best player (statistically) Pekovic. And they would be a legit playoff contender next season if they have Love for the entire season.

If they're going to trade Love, they won't get close to equal value for him and can kiss playoff hopes goodbye, IMO.

I'm not trying to say what the Wolves philosophy is, cause I have no idea... I'm just offering my thoughts on what it should be.

I keep hearing people saying they should go for the players that can make an immediate impact... but I have yet to see a poster that thinks the Wolves can trade Love and compete for the playoffs in the west, so it doesn't make sense. Anyone actually think that?

I am seriously baffled by some of Orlando's moves.

They cut Nelson to bring in Ben Gordon?

Their draft moves are puzzling as well:scratch:.

But, this is a nice recovery for Dallas.

I was concerned about them going into the Season with Round-shoulders Ray as their starter.

They should start Nelson or Harris and use Felton as their 3rd stringer imo.

The Mavs are a very dangerous team. Remember they took the almighty Spurs to 7

If they find the old Tyson Chandler, they are a championship contender. If they don't, they might not make the playoffs in a tough West

They finished 8 games BEHIND the 9th place Team in the West with Love.

So, no.....

They have little chance of making the playoffs in the stacked West.

Still, they should take the package that puts them in the best possible position for the future.

I think that's the Bulls, if the offer is accurate.

They have a very raw Lavine, Dieng and Shabazz who hasn't really had a chance to log any serious NBA minutes.

Martin sounds like he goes in any Love Deal. So, that leaves Ricky, Brewer and Pek as the Elder Statesmen.

Adding a guy like Taj, a young McBuckets and the best Euro to the mix of youngsters wouldn't be a bad move...imo

This is a great addition for the Mavs.

The Mavs and Hornets have had the best Offseason.

I had the Bulls up there too.

But, it's strange to think that the possible addition of a stud like Love would make me think they are taking a step back.

Depending on what they give up, I think they would :noidea:.

On the one hand, the Bulls are like the perfect team for a guy like Love.

They would minimize his defensive issues.

But, trading for him could deplete their depth and I'm not a fan of that.

They have no shot at the playoffs unless Rubio gets a jumpshot. Zero. None.

The Suns will be better. The Lakers will be better. The Kings might be better.

GL to Heat winning anytime soon, at least Cleveland has a chance. Without Lebron Miami is nothing now.

Miami won before Lebron, and we'll win at some point without him. Probably not next year, or the year after. But Miami has managed to put themselves in title contention before and build from there. Alot of talk coming from you considering your franchise hasn't even won a title yet. Not even a finals game.

Don't forget the Pelicans.

If Jrue Holiday is healthy, they will be much better with the addition of Asik.

Davis can actually devote more attention to offense now that he doesn't have to grab every rebound, block every shot.

On paper, they might be the Worst team in the West:noidea:.

I actually like Utah's roster better too.

That's minus Love, of course.

T'wolves main problem was at the end of games last year, IIRC. They were terrible in close games. They could turn that around but they need a guy who is clutch and can create his own shot that isnt Love.

I dont see that guy on the roster

Just to let everyone know, the wolves had pretty much the same point differential as mavs did... They were unlucky just like the warriors. Who won 51 games but were protected to win 54 with the point differential they had

As long as he works the ass in the back and the ass in the front off, maybe he will.

That fool looked like he was 5 months pregnant in a couple of games last season:L.
