They are still flawed. No shooters to space the floor. I would pick them to take the East our of default right now, but I would not be at all surprised if they lost before even getting to the East Finals. They are beatable.

McDermott and Snail are both good shooters.

East is going to be fun to watch this year. Its really up in the air. U got Cleveland, Pacers,Bulls, Wash, Toronto, Atlanta, Miami, NJ and for fun throw in NY.

I think Chicago, Cleveland, and Indy are going to be the top 3 teams based on record but I think this year seeds 4-8 will be good. You should need 44 wins to make the playoffs this season

McDermott yes but not in year 1. Maybe Next year. Right now MDJ will be the starter at SF. Mirotic will be our stretch 4.

Dunleavey can just camp out behind the 3 point line.

Rose will draw so much attention with his dribble penetration and Noah/Gasol are both good post up players.

Snell, Mirotic, McBuckets and MDJ should have tons of open shots.

Gasol improves the defense and rebounding, but I am not sure his offensive skillset solves their offensive problems.

They need shooters and someone who can create their own shot.

I would still pick Washington right now over Chicago if the two teams played again.

Chicago is still an also-ran until we know what Derrick Rose is....

Snell and Dunleavy are not very good.

McDermott is, but he is a rookie. Mirotic? Can he play the 3? If not, he won't get more than 10-12 minutes a game, so it doesn't matter how well he can shoot.

Yes, but can they make them with enough regularity to keep defenses honest? I have my doubts.

I disagree about Snell(we will see much improved player this year) and MDJ(38% from 3). Year before he shot 40%.

McDermott has 30pts right now.

Snell's game reminds me of Tracy Murray.

Both guys can light it up.

He is better than he showed last year.

Oh yes, they are beatable but having an imposing front line goes a long way in the playoffs.

They still don't have a guy who can make something happen.

You need that guy who can create his own offense whether its a 3 pt shot, a drive and pullup, a head down drive to the rim, free throws, or even a collapsed defense that opens up shooters.

Kobe, Wade, Lebron, Ginobili, Pierce...

Recent title teams all have "that guy" when the offense gets stagnant.

Until you have one, you are most likely not winning a title.

D-Rose is still the key.

Without him, the Bulls could easily lose in the first round again.

With him, then they are a title threat.

it is the big unknown.

A lot hinges on Rose, I honestly think he is done but he could surprise me.

Gasol is a great player and great pick-up by the Bulls, I'm surprised more teams didn't try to grab this guy during free agency, a PF/C as versatile and skilled as Gasol is hard to find. And you are right he is good defensively, very underrated defensively.

Gasol is average at best on defense.
