Yeah, unless he's truly as torn as they are claiming, this would be the most likely reason. He knows the Knicks and Lakers offers are going to be there no matter what.

I think Kobe is his plan B. He wants to know where Lebron is going, SPECIFICALLY if he's only taking a 2 year deal. That way, he knows they can sign him in NYC next year.

All this Love to Cleveland talk is just stupid. Love isn't signing in Cleveland no matter who is there, and Minny isn't trading for what's been proposed on this board - it isn't a good trade for them.

Agree...too much uncertainty for Minnesota and they could get better but the Cavs could start throwing in a lot of picks, Wiggins for Love. You would think Minnesota would have much better options from say Boston or Golden State.

Not really sure what you mean here. Did they already have a good amount of cap space before this? Yes. Did they receive anything of value in this trade? No. They dumped 2 decent players for nothing more than money.

Exactly what "proof" are you wanting. I put 2 and 2 together, and this is my opinion. Oh, do you mean did I talk to Lebron on his personal cell phone and get assurances from him on what he will do, without giving an opinion? No. I guess we should shut down the message board then.

People also forget they want to unload Kevin Martin's contract......which kills any deal to Cleveland even IF Love wanted to sign there.

Sad to say, but I have a confirmation that Miller probably will go to Cavs if James does......
If James goes to Heat, he's almost certain to accept Ok City offer.

NO confirmation that James WILL go to Cavs from this person though.

You dismissing the report that the trade would have happened regardless is my problem.

If you believe that, I've got a bridge for sale....... ya know....

Just dump players? That's it? No rhyme or reason? Remember, they got absolutely nothing in return for this, except cap space that they did not need. No other marquee FA is looking at Cleveland. They did not need the extra cap space, unless.... ya know.....

Actually, it makes perfect sense. Available cap space is always a good thing. Especially for teams that are unlikely to make the playoffs without landing a big name. If they don't get Lebron now, they have space to go after someone else next season.

That's why I don't sweat whether the Lakers get 'Melo or not. If they do, fine. If not, they'll have cap space to get someone else next year.

What's the offer for Love? They can't afford James if they trade for Love.

Except.....if James signs, they can't afford Love.

Check the CBA, it restricts trades like that.

As long as they make up the $15 mil, they can make a trade for Love

When I first heard discussed several weeks ago that LeBron might return to Cleveland, I thought that such a move made a lot of sense. How better can he insure that all will once again love him?

I'm going to say this.......pay ATTENTION to the fact MELO hasn't chosen a team yet.

WHY?

Because he WANTS TO PLAY WITH LEBRON. Now, it might not be feasible.....but he's hedging his bets right now.

Secondly......Cleveland doesn't have the chips to land Love via trade or otherwise, so get that pipe dream out your heads. Minny isn't going to take Wiggins and whatever throw ins over the GS offer, no way no how.

They 1st round picks next year, Waiters, Bennett, and Varejeo.

Waiter, Wiggins, and 2 1st rounders, throw in Varejeo. I longshot, but wouldn't be a surprise

As long as they ship out $12+ million in salaries as part of the trade... there's still enough room for a Max for LeBron.

Varejao makes 9 million, Wiggins, Bennett and Thompson at 5, Waiters at 4, Gee at 3... so there's plenty of ways to put the pieces together.

They don't have the assets, nor is there a guarantee Love will sign. They also can't afford to take on Kevin Martin's contract. A move for Love is not in the realm of possibility.

The Wolves want draft picks and a better deal than that imo. That's what they've been saying since Love has made it clear he wants to be gone.
