Tech fans aren't forcing Dinich to be retained or let go. The VT football "web infrastructure" is developed more than almost any other in our conference, so they know we aren't their best target audience. Tons of competition concentrated on that market. Everyone of us here have different beat writers, blogs, and twitter feeds we follow and share with the board. She blogs about the whole ACC and works for ESPN, so its probably casual fans of other teams that frequent her page the most. The product is simply not designed or marketed for what Tech fans demand. We therefore shouldn't really expect her or ESPN to devote much effort on us for this particular type of media.

There are idiots in any fanbase. But I'm curious what your basis is for this statement... I sure haven't seen a lot of Hokie fans touting HD's work...

Read the comments on her blogs, the majority of them are either VT or FSU fans, and mostly VT fans praise her and kiss her ass. There were tons of VT fans that commented on her blog that didnt even use the message boards.

NC State will have three former quarterbacks starting in the NFL this week. That's incredible.

I don't know what's more amazing though; that they had that much talent, or that they really never won anything of significance with it.

When NC State beat VT in 2004 they basically had no QB. Was a season long QB battle between Marcus Stone and Jay Davis....Who?!?? Box Score from that game....Davis 4-10, 64 yds, 1 INT; Stone 2-7, 14 yds
How the heck did VT lose that one?

Missed fg at the last second that we all thought was good at first. Don't remember much else from that game but I believe that was our only loss in conference with the other losses coming to the eventual #1 and#2 teams at the end of the year if memory serves.

Mario Williams and the rest of the d-line had a field day. Most dominating defensive player I saw in person when I was at VT.

NC State's DLine was absolutely insane that game. Receivers were young. Backs were inexperienced. Tech just couldn't get it done on offense. Our defense played well but we fumbled on a fourth down punt attempt deep in our territory that set up the go ahead score for NC State. We still had a chance at the end for that infamous 43 yard Brandon Pace kick.

I'll repeat what Cobrabit said. From the East stands, we all thought it went in. Losing wasn't so hard as the emotional swing. Kind of the opposite of the Nebraska game. It was a feeling I'll never quite forget.

That NC State lost sucked and it was like 100 degrees that day. On the plus side, I did get some strange buns that night so it wasn't a total loss. She was kind of a freaky one too.

that night was a total loss of my memory...tailgated all morning, went straight downtown afterwards...was giving a girl a piggy back ride down the ramp at BW3's...lost my balance and slammed her into the rock wall, or so I was told, lol

c'mon hokies....

– Kicker Cody Journell received a threatening phone call after missing a 25-yard field goal against Georgia Tech that would have put the game away. The senior has had his struggles lately. He missed two field goals and an extra point at ECU, with another field goal miss negated by a penalty. He was then suspended for the Marshall game for a violation of team rules.

Journell informed Virginia Tech about the threat midday Friday. It was then relayed to both the Virginia Tech and Blacksburg Police Department, who spoke with Journell and associate AD for football relations John Ballein. Unspecified precautions have been put in place.

Beamer said that’s the first case he’s heard of someone threatening a player.

“It’s something that you just don’t think about or should think about at the college level, pro level, high school level, whatever,” Beamer said. “Guys are out there doing their best, playing as hard as they can play. There’s no room for that as far as I’m concerned. …

“I’ll say this: that wasn’t a good Hokie fan. That was somebody else that wants to try to give your program a bad name. That wasn’t a good … the Hokies fans I know, that wasn’t them .That was somebody else.”

I've been going through VTPhreak's site (VTPhreak4evr.wordpress.com) and watching the vids, and I think the 1996 team is definitely my favorite. Particularly Druckenmiller, who I think I love even more than Vick. He may not have put up the rushing yards that Vick did, but he wasn't that big and he still seemingly has the power rushing game of Logan Thomas. And he had a deadly arm.

Druck was probably VT's 2nd biggest QB behind LT....Druck played at 6'-5", 235 lbs.
