Woah there....back up a minute. I am not sure any combination with UVA would draw 70,000 much less 50,000 if FSU/Clemson/NCSU aren't in it.

Of course UVa can sell out the big games. UVa is still averaging over 45,000 per game(no, I am not saying that is good), and that is with a program that has averaged winning less than 5 games a season over the last 5 years. Just like any other program, win and the fans will come. Also, Charlotte is home to a large amount of UVa alumni.

Charlotte is the perfect spot for the game. On campus is BS, and makes our conference looks bad. As long as it's a combo of us,Clemson,UNC, or FSU in the game, there will be solid attendance. I have been to two there, and ticket sales were really good. Weather really hurt the attendance in one of them, but that's to be expected. Atlanta would be badass too, but the SEC already has here taken.

What I have heard from different fan bases (mainly VT and FSU) is that the ACCCG is essentially a bowl game as far as costs go. Most fans may only have the budget for one bowl game, so they elect not to attend the ACCCG and save for the true bowl game that is a bigger deal anyway. The majority of VT's fans come from NOVA....that's a pretty good hike to Charlotte. Now that the newness of the ACCCG in Charlotte has wore off, I wouldn't be surprised to see tickets sales continue to slide in future games regardless of the matchups....unless we have two top 15 teams facing off.

Interesting idea here: http://blogs.roanoke.com/andybitter...solving-the-accs-football-scheduling-problem/

I love that this produces much better matchups, both for fans like us and for TV. I might reorganize it a bit:

Boston College — Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Duke
Syracuse — Louisville, Pittsburgh, Boston College
Pittsburgh — Louisville, Boston College, Syracuse
Louisville — Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Syracuse
Virginia — Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Wake Forest
Virginia Tech — Louisville, N.C. State, Virginia
Duke — North Carolina, Wake Forest, Boston College
North Carolina — N.C. State, Virginia, Duke
N.C. State — Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Wake Forest
Wake Forest — N.C. State, Virginia, Duke
Clemson — Florida State, Miami, Georgia Tech
Georgia Tech — Florida State, Clemson, Miami
Florida State — Clemson, Miami, Georgia Tech
Miami — Florida State, Clemson, Georgia Tech

easiest: BC, Wake Forest, UNC
hardest: GT, Miami, Clemson, FSU

Yes, some teams have pronouncedly more difficult (GT) or easier (BC) fixed opponents here. But for the most part I think they’d actually be amenable to that (cheaper travel, better rivalries, teams with title aspirations needing tougher schedules and teams without needing weaker schedules to keep up the pretense of success for fans and donors, etc). Especially when you factor in that this is less than half of the conference schedule and it will be balanced out somewhat in the rotation, as Andy pointed out. A team with 3 weaker fixed opponents is still going to have to play 5 on-average tougher non-fixed opponents come out of that with a pretty good record to make the championship game. If that still turns out to cause bad matchups, perhaps rankings could be factored in some how.

Apparently there are rumors Foster may be leaving in the offseason. Is that the reason for Hand's supposed turnaround???

Interesting concept. I love the idea of playing NC State more often and Louisville is a reasonable opponent. If it meant we got Clemson and FSU more often, I'd be game. Unfortunately it's not a feasible scheduling scheme in the current system.

Will you guys all help me move next time. I ficking hate moving so much. What makes this even worse is it is a transitional move to storage units. :(

Are you moving from apartment to apartment or something? If you are going from house to house, I would have looked into those POD things. Yeah, you would still have to box everything up and unpack it all again, but the POD would be at your place whenever you got good and ready for it.

My fiancée was in Pittsburgh. I was in Collge Park. Right now we are stating at my parents in Purcellvillle while we look for a house/town house. We are doing this partially to save a little money and take out time in picking the best next step and partially to be with my Mom during her illness.

Most of our stuff is in two storage units in Frederick as that is the most centrally located place for all of this. Her folks are in Shippensburg, PA.
