From the above article it has a link to the Fulmer Cup. Fulmer Cup - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I think we should keep a tracker on this. I'm just not sure where to get the information.

That thing is such a crack up. It gets pretty interesting over the summer when the players have too much free time.

Alabama isnt listed and they had 4 guys get arrested. It must go by convictions. I checked the link on that page it has to the processing station and bama is listed there. we are good.

Not very good research by CBS. We are at about 91.

By my count we have 63 returning (not including Cole) + 3 earned scholarships + 7 spring enrolls + 14 2013 signees not including spring enrolls + 2 2012 signees not yet enrolled (Smith and Harris) = 89. CBS did have that asterisk at the bottom about not counting earned scholarships (guess they were too lazy to dig that up), so if you take those out we'd be down to 86. Still enough that we should have been listed, so it is odd that we aren't.

I forgot to count Gresh, who I believe was awarded a scholarship at the start of last season. So make it 90. I did count St. Germaine, who was awarded a scholarship this spring. I did not count Journell and Branthover, who do not have scholarships at the moment unless that has gone unreported.

Interestingly, Bitter just posted about this. He counts Journell and Branthover, and doesn't count Thomas Smith coming in (or McKinnon or Harris, both of whom I counted, though he does that intentionally), so I think he's a little off.

I suppose the reality is that there will likely be some injuries, flunk outs, crimes, etc that rule out players.

Everybody must play the same game, I suppose.

The truth is in many cases you end up running with less than 85. A couple years back (don't remember the exact year) by opening week we had 78 scholarship guys playing. The coaches have a better idea as to who may not come back and more info on what injuries may force guys out than we do. So they sign accordingly and make it work. bama does it like a business and even overdoes it to a bit but would anyone be surprised to hear that someone with injury history like Gregory or Acree decided to hang them up?

Agreed. We are not so over as to be a cause for much concern. A couple guys will prep, someone may transfer, someone may hang it up... For that matter, I'm not sure whether Beamer promises to renew an earned scholarship at the end of the year. We'll be fine.

Well, it seems Branthover is on scholarship, and I can't find anything that says Journell lost his (I know he was still on scholarship last spring. I thought he lost it over the summer, but I haven't been able to confirm that). So plus 2.
