Is there honor in recruiting at UVA? Has the venerable code been left behind?

UVA did a lot of poaching from verbal commits to other programs this year. Isn't a man's word his bond? Is it honorable to convince people to disregard their verbal commitment to another program?

Zach Bradshaw - Penn State
Connor Wingo - Temple
George Adeosun - William & Mary
Eric Tetlow - Wake Forest ( flipped on Signing Day)

Good recruiting, or has sneaky poaching become an accepted practice in college football? It seems to be the rule rather than the exception at UVA.

We took two former ECU commits...

On signing day? Did we go to them, or did they come to us? Maybe it's just the nature of the beast?

To be fair, UVA lost a couple of recruits as well -- to Utah and UNC.

Darius Redman ring a bell? I'm pretty sure the majority here will say that a verbal commit don't mean shit until that LOI is signed.

I don't think anyone is going to say "It don't mean shit."

But we'll all agree that in the eyes of the NCAA nothing is contractually binding until LOI day.

I'll bet Wake Forest is a little pissed at London today, though.

Just like UNC is a bit annoyed with Clemson. So maybe you're right -- it's all fair in love and war, right?

Even though a recruit gives a school their verbal commitment, that doesn't mean the school just quits recruiting them. A school still has to keep tabs on them. Wake is probably more pissed off at TOB more than anything, as he was the one that lured Tetlow away from Winston Salem. I don't think you truly realize how much this happens. A FSU verbal flipped to Miami today, a Auburn verbal flipped to Alabama, a Miami verbal flipped to Arkansas, a Texas verbal also to Alabama.

For those of you guys who frequent the politics board, they are going the way of elected mods starting next week and the election is right now.

I think this is for the better because some really good info and smart posters are over there but it gets all watered down with personal attack BS.

Vote if you are interested:

http://www.sportshoopla.com/forums/politics-forum/92355-politics-mods-election-poll.html

Two of our Hokies are running as well (robVT and Cobrabit) and both are really good level headed hands off types of guys so I obviously fully support them.

If y'all ever want to overthrow me, let me know. Also, I am still working out some new mods here to help with house cleaning now that Evan went big time.

no offense to rob, but cobra only need s a couple more (3) votes to be tied for the lead, we should do our best to get him in.

You can vote for up to four guys. Vote for both Hokies. As a guy who reads a lot over there and posts some, I voted for rob, cobra, GS and fordman because I think they will do the best. One right, one left, one libertarian and one math teacher ;)

Thanks for the suport guys. On an unrelated but much more important note, if you type "vt sports" into google (go to the actual google.com site) are you guys getting "vt sports SportsHoopla" as the second suggestion behind "vt sports?" IDK how google's algorithims work, but if it's that way for everyone that's frickin awesome.
