Miss the playoffs again it could be JS's job that comes to an end.If the Oline is crap this coming season they will just fire their Oline coach again and throw them under the bus.

Agreed. Seattle is not the only team with a bad OLINE or sub par OLINE. I'd say more than half the league has that problem. And if you could just go big in free agency and sign everyone, well then everyone would do it. Minny gave out almost $14M to a guard coming off an injury that came out of nowhere and didn't even medically examine him, lol.The OL isn't just a Seahawk issue (ok, it's been an achillis for them for quite a few years now) but it's more of a NFL problem... I don't think the talent at the OL position is keeping up with the talent at the DL position through HS, college and into the pro's... The league became a passing league well ahead of the OL keeping up at the same pace/trend... Just seems like a lot of teams struggle w/ their OL more than we've seen in years past... There tends to only be a handful of teams these days that have really dialed in there OL...
Saying all that because it's obviously the toughest position to put together with all 5 players upfront... Sad that it's been this way but it's not going to be fixed over night... Just looking at the 3 we're bringing in outside of Jenkins for a visit... They're not ranked that high for an OG at their position... They would be fine if we were putting them besides all pro talent already at 2 of the 5 positions but that's definitely not the case...
Can't keep filling holes with journeyman players if they aren't surrounded by great talent around them on the OL... We don't have that yet... Cross is close but the RT position is still up the air... Outside of LT, we aren't looking that good anywhere else..
That's why it's important that we are effective at coaching up our young guys and drafting well at that position... If we miss again this year in the draft, it won't get fixed...
I think that dead on. When teams needs are listed OL is almost always listed. Seeing half a dozen teams chasing Fries based on a few games he played last season and then the contract he got sort highlights how desperate the situation is in the NFL. Don't feel those who annually put out draft rankings and mocks have caught up with the sheer need in the NF for OL. The other day seen 3 mocks and on two of them they had the Seahawks taking a TE (for God sakes) and one a safety. Obviously they don't get how bad the Seahawks (and other NFL teams ) need OL. The demand far out paces the need for OL who matter.Just seems like a lot of teams struggle w/ their OL more than we've seen in years past...
