So this last weekend they played above what most of us were expecting so we need to acknowledge that they got the job done. I have been as critical of them as anyone and want to apologize so that they don't look me up and give me a swirly in the turd blender.

Every time I trash them and say bad things about their upbringing they play better. We really need them to step up again this weekend so I will say something bad about them. I am superstitious.

So even though they are getting better, their parents still liked their other children better! Take that poopy face!

The Rams will be playing us hard as they always do. In my dreams the Seahawks blow them out by several touchdowns and in garbage time run a trick play for a total screw you and the horse you rode in on touchdown.
Run up the score on those sneaky bastards.

Credit Cable and Bevell with a good game plan. They both take a lot of flack at times, but they out coached Bowles who is a hell of a DC. Can you believe we have had 4 different centers start at least 3 games? Crazy

What their performance did was ease my mind a bit going into the playoffs. I'd still rather have Unger and Okung out there, but if I can't have that, I'll take a group of guys who played well against a good defense and who just as importantly will have multiple weeks of practice and game experience together as a unit going into the playoffs.

The negative side of playing new guys is they make mistakes and still are weak on some of the skills. The positive side is they get experience which is everything and practice using what they are being taught. I agree, a little more confidence in them going into the playoffs.

Its not just the line, Pete has no problem putting young kids in there so they can learn. Holmgren didn't do much of that. Just different coaching styles.

The benefit of playing rookies as much as possible is showing up most in our defensive backfield. Where did Simon come from? Being able to replace the guys we lose to FA is a really big deal.

they played better, all this shows me is THE CAN PLAY BETTER yet we get the turd line more often than not. I expect better from them we all should, they prove like 2 or 3 times a year that they have quality on the line yet the other 13-14 games they can't get out of their own way. This all comes down to the coaching they are getting. That's what them playing better 2 or 3 times a year shows me. The talent is there, the oline coaching talent is not.

Patrick Lewis started and played C almost the whole game. Lem came in late with TJ IIRC.
Only 1 sack allowed but a lot of that was due to RW practicing getting rid of the ball quicker...under 2 seconds. That did cause me to be aware that some of our sacks to lie at the feet of our outstanding QB.
More massive rushing yards and this was not the 1st time we logged gobs of yards on the ground.

Which positions do you draft or are you suggesting 2 BPA's to add for depth?

I'll take two guards, G and T, even G and a really good blocking TE which we don't have at all right now. Guard is a definite need in my mind.

With that in mind do you suggest dumping Carp, bench Sweezy, or depth?

Every time Bailey has played for Carp or Okung, he has done well. He is a little big to be a LT, but it is encouraging to see him play well. I did not see AZ challenge him with a speed rush on that side. Not sure why. He did get some TE help a few times.

Yes, draft some linemen. And at that point I am over my head. I can't tell you who or what position. Preferable one who can remember the snap count.

Since we are drafting late, maybe last again, they gotta be real good at evaluating talent. So far the grade for O line drafting is only passing. Maybe its that way for most teams?

I still don't think they will draft O-Line in the first round, unless they are replacing Okung. Our team is ranked 4th in the league in run blocking per football outsiders. All while playing 7 of our games against top 10 run defenses.

It is frustrating to see the pass blocking I agree, but to keep the defense we have and the QB we have, you have to give up value somewhere, and pass blocking is where PC and JS have chosen to give up value. Coincidentally, they have found value in getting good run blocking lineman for very cheap.

If he takes a big pay cut, no way am I paying him starter money. Nobody else will either I don't think, so its possible he stays.

Ol play very will against the Cards, thankfully. Now if they do the same against the Rams, I'll quit worrying about the OL for now. One game could be the OL getting in a groove or it could of been just a bad day for the Cards DL. I really do hope it's them finally clicking, just in time for the playoffs!

There are 64 starting guards in the league (more if you factor in injuries and benchings). He's obviously not getting elite starter money from anyone, but there's a big difference between elite starter money and, say, 60th best starting guard money. If the Seahawks intend to bring him back next year and have him start, he's gonna get somewhere between decent starter money and "he's only still here because he's familiar with the blocking scheme" money.
