1701308016722.pngAugust 8, 1982. A line drive foul ball hits a four year old boy in the head at Fenway. Jim Rice, realizing in a flash that it would take EMTs too long to arrive and cut through the crowd, sprang from the dugout and scooped up the boy. He laid the boy gently on the dugout floor, where the Red Sox medical team began to treat him. When the boy arrived at the hospital 30 minutes later, doctors said, without a doubt that Jim's prompt actions saved the boy's life. Jim returned to the game in a blood-stained uniform. A real badge of courage. After visiting the boy in the hospital, and realizing the family was of modest means, he stopped by the business office and instructed that the bill be sent to him. This is what a sports Hero looks like!

There is a meeting scheduled between Cap and Wizards owner Ted Leonsis and Gov Youngkins of VA in Potomac Yards (Alexandria, VA) tomorrow. Quite a few reports that Leto onsis will build a new arena there with help from the state of VA. If they leave DC expect Mayor Bowser to up the ante to bring Washington's football team back to the RFK site.

Thirtyish years ago that was Jack Kent Cooke's desired site for the Redskins. It's next to the Potomac river and you can look up river and see DC. Virginia didn't want him.

Done deal as Youngkins and Leonsis are announcing at this very moment that the Caps and Wizards are moving to a new areana in Potomac Yards. Would love to see the Wiz change back to the Bullets.

I think because college is in the days of NIL those players should NOT opt out. They are paid to play.
