Boyhood friend of mine was a Chiefs fan. In the 70s when he and I were in HS we would talk shit back and forth. The Allen Redskins and Chiefs with Dawson, Taylor, Lanier, Bobby Bell, Buchanon .....

Tonight the Chiefs and Mahomes did a very cool thing .... first time on offense Mahomes ran out with the offense and they got in the old choirboy huddle used when Len was QB. Mahomes didn't play, just participated in the tribute. Really nice.

Never saw him play, but I've watched tons of tape on him. He was the truth.

Caps won their first preseason game .... for whatever that is worth.

Caps start regular season in a week. I think they will be pretty good but not Cup good.

Oshie went off with an injury tonight, hopefully it is precautionary. Wilson is probably out until at least mid season. Not sure when Backstrom will be available. He really wasn't very good last year when he came back. Carlson will still be Mike Green part deaux, he'll score points but be a liability on defense. Kuemper is for sure an upgrade. They need a couple of these young guys to step up.

Witnessing the deconstruction of the Nats coupled with the fact the Caps haven't come close to winning a playoff series since they won the cup has been tough

I need them to be good this year. I do feel they have the right coach. Trotz has been fired and Reirden has yet to be hired.

They just have to stay healthy.

Watching Ovi continue to score is going to be great, but if I’m being honest, the Caps should have started rebuilding at least two years ago.

There’s no way they make it past the Hurricanes, and it would be sadly very unlikely flr them to get past the Rangers either.

Just about the only way they go past the first round of the playoffs - if they make the playoffs to begin with - is if a few youngsters get good at the same time.
