I plan on having a few Band Battles during the course of this. If either of these songs had gone against any song by say The Cars I would imagine Steppenwolf would come out on top.

No they don't there are two songs there all you have to do is pick one, I really do not see the issue. We are doing this all of season I don't see where two different songs from one band on occasion should be a problem. I made it clear anyone that wanted to have songs featured only need PM me. I stated today that I would feature a band battle on occasion. I really cannot wrap my head around why this is a concern. A band like Zeppelin with so many hits having two of their songs battle one another makes a lot of sense to me.

The issue isn't you or how you've framed this exercise. It's a function of the ADD we all tend to suffer living in a world full of distractions.

Though I can tolerate it, and even like it in specific songs, I've never been a fan of the 60's "blues on an acid trip" sound. By default it's The Stones.

I agree, to a degree I feel they are both classics. My fave Zep song is Gallo's Pole it doesn't get as much credit as a lot of their other work but I do like when the levee breaks, I guess it's the pounding drums and Plants voice is timesless on so many songs.
