Day 21:

Neil Young: Southern Cross

Loggins and Messina: Vahevala

Southern Cross is not a Neil Young song. It's not even a CSN & Y song.
It's actually not even a CSN song as Crosby isn't even on the original album version, only Stephen Stills and Graham Nash.

But it still gets my vote.

Yeah not sure what I was thinking. Let me check the time stamp on my post that may explain it

Another difficult choice for me. Both are Saturday summer hang out and enjoy favorites for me.
I'm going to vote Loggins and Messina because I will listen to the album "Friends" any happy weekend.

""Southern Cross" is a song written by Stephen Stills, Rick Curtis, and Michael Curtis and performed by the rock band Crosby, Stills & Nash. It was featured on the band's Daylight Again album and was released as a single in September 1982. Stephen Stills sings lead throughout, with Graham Nash joining on the second verse. Because David Crosby did not reunite with Stills and Nash until the album was well underway, his vocals are not featured on the album version, although he did appear in the video and subsequently sang the song with the group in live performances. The single was a success on the charts, reaching No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks in late November[1] and early December 1982.[2]"

1st would not play for me.
As much as I hate voting for a cover, I just love the Deep Purple cover of Hush. An all time favorite!

I'm hot and cold with Deep Purple. Hot - Hush, cold - Child in Time
I take it back. I've been listening to Deep Purple on and off since this morning. Though I'm still not a fan of Child in Time, I'm definitely mostly hot on Deep Purple, to the point of seeing them as probably the most underrated rock band. Is there a more iconic rock song than "Smoke on the Water"?

Not a huge Deep Purple fan EXCEPT for the Perfect Strangers album. That was holy shit level amazingness.

I'm listening to that now to see if my earlier comments are as much about that album than the entirety of the band...
