An acquaintance of mine used to tout her Smart Car all the time. I looked them up and to me, for something that small and something that expensive it needs to get a lot better mileage than it does. I admit I am not much of a car person, so comfort and mpg are far more important to me than looks, but the Smart Car was just too small and goofy.

I am looking into buying a horse but the hay speculative market has gone nuts lately. Its up to $20 a bale right now.

I like the Toyota FJ a lot as well, but I think practicality needs to prevail over what I'd like. 17-21 mpg is just not good enough.

my 4runner gets 16/20 mpg depending
F-250 SD (V10 gas) gets 12/14 mpg maybe (luckily its only a work truck)
07 Camry 4 cyl gets around 20/28

looking to dump both gas guzzlers for a *gulp* Honda or Toyota Van...

when I was in Italy in the summer of 2003, I drove an automatic diesel smart car on the autostrada ... it felt like i was driving a lawnmower ... and the shifting ... jeesh ... I felt like my head was gonna hit the steering wheel and set off the airbag

I did too...my wife wanted a 2002 Elantra back in the day and I did everything in my power to convince her otherwise...8 years and 130000 miles later, it's still going strong.

I thinks it the whole Korean manufactured thing and the low prices, but they are looking more and more nicer each year, if they only changed that ugly emblem, I may consider getting one. Wifey is definitely not having it though..guess she feels the same.
