well this is your issue , you dont read contracts fully thus you fail to understand simple things . you havent read the "real " contracts of TM , long , keenum etc etc etc and you make judgments based on faulty information

any normal Skins fan would be excited about acquiring Barkley to help us WIN. You over exaggerate the holes when there are still time to fill those holes. WEll he isnt going to fall to 13. My point is, we cant afford him without over extending. He might turn out to be a very good, hell even a great RB. But he isnt the missing link. A trade up would be classic Bruce and Dan, excitment over logic because he isnt the final piece to a Super Bowl. This team doesnt have an elite QB in need of an above average RB, we are not one player away from a Lombardi, thus Barkley is simply too expensive for what it would take to get him... even if he slid to #5, Elway was feeling generous AND stupid.

He would be a big link that would make this offense something special. I don't understand how not trading up for a great RB isn't logical. We are a better with him then without him. Like Vt said if the first round pick next year is in the 20's who cares? That would mean we would of had a successful season. Im not saying winning the Super Bowl but a force to deal with in the playoffs. That is all you can ask for right now.

I think Elway considers trading with us for #13, 2019 1st rounder, and Cravens. That is actually an overpay from us. But I think most fans can live without the 2019 first rounder if it lands us Barkley.

The league is all about trends.... right now the trend is that the gap has closed between LT and RT.

Guards are starting to be valued more

Safeties and Inside backers are being valued less

The value for RBs, as any skins fan at this point should understand, has really begun to shoot back up. Barkley at #1 is not unreasonable just because you can sign a Lagerrette Blount or a Carlos Hyde

I'm not sure I buy that. There have been some super talented RB prospects of late but that's about it. RB is still a replaceable position.

a few years ago i had this debate about sherff and i was right about him . the top 4 even 5 qbs are all about even and carry the same risk of failure or success.

barkley is the best player in this draft period, if i am the browns and i get him and walk away with rosen , allen and mayfield then i am ecstatic . barkley adds more pressure to a defense then carlos hyde

Yes it is. A punter could be BPA. But he'd NEVER go as the top pick cuz...he's a punter...

RB is a less extreme case but... still not worth a top 5 pick.

He may be the best. But he isn't the most valuable and that's all that matters.

I don't think you can say the top 4 QBs are all that similar anyways.

Hyde is fine. Hyde + Franchise QB >>>> Franchise RB + Tyrod.

We haven't had one since Morris and our offense has been fine. It's almost like RBs aren't that important...
